We did it! Our spotlight dance was last night, and we Rumba'ed the hell out of that song. Leans, spins, turns, dips and all! They got it on video, I can't wait to see it. I mean, I know it won't be anywhere (anywhere!) close to perfect, but it was good... like C+ maybe. Plus, I bought a new outfit for it, which I love. So that's fun too. OK, off to the gym, it's core today.

I got my first month measurement at the gym yesterday.... wait for it.... down 4 BMI points and 20 inches (2 from here, 3 from there, etc.) And the most exciting part, 1 inch off the Chicken Wings that most call arms. I feel so lucky that the gym is close, Bev is great to work with, etc. I told her yesterday that my goal is Kick Boxing, and she said, if you can do all these weights, and Zumba and dance, you are ready. Just get in there and do it. The problem is, the gym only offers it 3 x's per week, and none of them are good times for me... just going to try to work something out.

OH Boy, trying my first Zumba Class this morning. I still have flashbacks of Jazzercise in 6th grade PE. Standing with all my friends who were cheerleaders / pep squad and them all picking it up like that (she snaps fingers). And there was me, at least 3 steps behind the whole time. Urg, we spent a week learning the "routine" to the Elton John song Crocodile Rock - which every time I hear I still think, "me and Suzi did NOT have so much fun".....
And my friends were ready to go win a national Jazzercise championship by Friday. What can I say, those Texas girls, most had their first dance class by the time they were 3, well those who started with dance and not gymnastics... Moving there in the 4th grade, I think the only outside class I had ever taken was, oh no, my sister wasn't old enough to drive yet *giggle* so I wouldn't have taken any classes or gone to any camps.
In any event, hopefully the 6 months of ballroom dancing will have given me some type of fundemental, which I didn't have as a kid. Maybe I will be able to stay only be 1 or 2 steps behind today. ;-)

Sometimes I hate this Game of Scales. I tracked everything I ate, stayed under 1200 calories each day, worked out 3 morning, 2 night dance classes AND a 4 hour swing bootcamp. And I gained weight. I know, I know, muscle weighs more then fat and it's not about the number on the scale, but still, Gained weight? Not fair fat gods!

Oh Aunt Jemima, you fooled me! The Whole Wheat Blend Pancake Mix is 1/4 cup service size, but the receipe on the box calls for 1 cup, and then doesn't say it's 4 servings, not 2! So more calories then I wanted, but YUM. Made it with unsweetened almond milk, unsweetened applce sauce, a little water and pieces of Fuji apple. And then Sugar free syrup... which next time, I think I am going to skip the syrup, add vanilla to the mix and top with a little butter spray and my truvia/cinnamon mix...
