A lot of outside factors playing a role in my efforts this week....bloating is better but ankles/feet stil swollen...dr. today. Was up a few days ago and now back down a bit. Hanging in there.

Crash and burn last night...got home and the dh said "let's get pizza" I did good, ate 2 pieces (pie was cut into 10ths) and some greek salad with grilled chicken to up the protein...3 hours later i got into some leftover macaroni salad ...not too bad...then came the mindless eating of doritos...then the guilt, the thought of purging actually crossed my mind - no I don't purge, but the thought crossed my mind. All in all I probably didn't completely destroy the day but I have been gaining.........
I think the gain is hormonal though. About a week and a half ago I had a mirena iud placed. I can tell the hormones are starting to affect me as I have been having to watch my temper and mood. Then for like the last week I have been kind of bloated and starting sat or sunday my feet and ankles started swelling...so bad i have pitting edema and I have limited movement in my ankles. Needless to say- I am retaining a lot of water...so I hope the weight gain is all water. I am trying to limit salt (ok, ok, not so much last night) and drink lots of water to flush. I am also going to call my dr. today and tell her how bad the swelling is in my feet. I hope everything balances out soon...Nothing like bc related weight gain to throw a wrench in your weight loss plans.

I am amazed at how much food I can eat in a day and stay below my RDI if I make good choices and focus on balanced eating. Right now I am trying to stay at 2000 or just over a day but once I lose a few I know that I will have to drop that to 1800ish to keep losing (in combination with increasing exercise). I really do feel like crap when I eat crap and I feel great when I eat healthier...

I don't think anything feels quite as good as logging my exercise. I pre-log food so that i know ahead of time what to eat that will fit my rdi plan, but exercise I don't allow myself to log until after...it is such sweet satisfaction logging my workouts.

Well after a very hard weekend I am back to work which makes it alot easier to stick to my plans. As I noted the other day I am up to 254 again. I have a feeling a lot of it will come off when I start drinking more water to flush. I ate a lot of bad crap over the weekend and didn't log anything. I was just too frustrated with the situation. but I did try to be mindful of my portions and to stop eating when full. Gym today! Can't wait!
