Lost a little over a pound! I think that's pretty good, since it's been a little over half a week. So I'm almost to my goal of losing 1.5 pounds per week. BF keeps finding reasons why we should go out to eat, though - last night we double dated with friends at a Thai restaurant. There's NOTHING low-calorie to eat at Thai; even the tofu is fried and the vegetables are drenched in sauce. I went over my expended calories (got a red arrow for the day). Hope it doesn't effect my weight loss too much...

Sigh. Of COURSE I had to start my diet during Restaurant Week! If your city doesn't have one, Restaurant Week is a one- or two-week period during which all the local restaurants offer a tasting menu, have special items on their regular menu, or have special guest chefs. Essentially, it's not just going out to eat, it's going out for a special night.
BF and I love food. We're straight-up foodies. And we also like to be sociable when we can, which meant that last night, when a big group from his workplace got together to go to a nearby Italian restaurant for Restaurant Week, we couldn't say no: not only would it be going against our foodie instincts, it would be anti-social! Hence, the sigh.
I tried to order healthily off the three-course menu. I started with a Cannelloni Bean Salad topped with a single grilled jumbo shrimp (exquisite), then had the grilled salmon served over oven-roasted potatoes (heavenly), and finished up with the mango sorbet. I made sure to only eat half of the entree and have the other half wrapped, but I'm still certain that, thanks to the richness of high-end Italian food, I probably ate my RDI in dinner alone yesterday. :(

Bought a cook book today -- HungryGirl's 200 Recipes under 200. Very excited about it. The appeal is that all the recipes are pretty short on ingredients, even shorter on calories, and are all for single servings. So I can eat 5 or 6 of these mini-meals in a day, make them pretty simply, and just make them for myself with no leftovers! So excited. :)
Also went to the grocery stores and totally overhauled my fridge. Brown rice, whole grain bread, high fiber wraps... I'm obsessed with carbs, obviously. But we also got lots of fruits and vegetables, which I'm going to try to include way more often in my daily diet.

Three pounds in three days? I was totally impressed with myself until Josh weighed himself and saw that he'd lost five. But whatever. We'll keep on dancing the pounds away!
