Back to work today and the reality check is really in full swing now!!! LOL!! I'm just 7.8 lbs above my weight at the start of vacation now which is a relief. I will stay on track and by Saturday, my "official weigh in day" I'll record whatever Frank reports ... even if it is above my last recorded weight of 188.6. This is a lesson in me finding more balance ... dealing with the realities of being able to indulge and return to a more typical eating pattern, more acceptance of myself and my journey with my body, life.

I do feel really great about getting right back on the scale after vacation. I am also proud of myself for not medicating my momentary after vacation blues with food. I could feel the pull ... but with the support of fatsecret and my family I just stepped around it and day three is now here and I am feeling FINE!!! It helps too to realize my clothes still fit and to really see myself. I know that sometimes ... clothes fitting can be deceptive ... I've used that one before to justify continued binging until suddenly one morning nothing seems to fit. But, in this case I don't think I am kidding myself. I had a week of fun ... yes I made good choices most of the time but I did eat onion rings, drink more alcohol that I typically do, had one fantastic dessert, and in general was eating much differently than I do at home. So ... no regrets ... I did remain conscious of my eating which was a major goal.

And so the story continues ... the sun is shining and I had a couple of cancellations this morning which means I can catch up in the office and make my plans for the day!! I hope all of you have a good day ... remember to stay honest with yourselves and be kind to yourselves as well. Everyday I am conscious of being kind to me ... I'm not always good at it!! LOL!!!

I think you have the right mind set. Vacation is well...vacation. I too was shocked my clothes still fit at my 5lb gain lol. We will get better this week.

I'm proud of you too...for not caving into any emotional eating! I always think of the quote I read on this site, posted by one of our FS friends: "If hunger is not the problem...then food is not the solution"! I absolutely LOVE that! I admire your self-awareness (something I personally need to keep in 'check' more often). Good job! :-)
