It's been three weeks!? Wow. Not a heck of a lot going on. Had a birthday, so I got to see my son and his GF for a small celebration. They surprised me by convincing my Mom to drive 4 hours and meet us at the restaurant. Never even saw her come in and sit down because my face was buried in a menu trying to find something good for me. I was shocked to see her there when I finally came up for air. It was a wonderful visit and she spent the night, but I didn't really get to spend any time with the kids and haven't seen them since. I drove down to my Mom's to help her get a few seasonal things done around the house. I wish my kid loved me like I love my Mom. I know he's 21 and kids all need space to become the adults they're going to be. I also recognize that he will pretty much only relate to Dad from this point forward and it's a guy thing. I know it's normal. Doesn't make it any easier. Just hurts. I miss him. I'll find balance, I hope. Speaking of balance. Guess what came 5 days early! (grrr...) Hormones are obviously playing into this and the change of season is already being felt. Really hoping it's just the TOM talking because this does not bode well for winter. Still taking the supplements. Still trying the seed cycling. Thinking I need to add vitamin D and a SAD light to my ritual. OH! My MRI is on the 29th. I'm equal parts excited and terrified. I hate needles and they have to inject the joint with dye. Every time I think about it, I feel dread. Thank goodness my husband has a career that allows him to do this stuff with me. Stress levels have been evening out. Procrastination levels have been high. LOL! Hoping to get back into the swing of things soon.

Had another period. This one was 3 days early from the last one, so I started eating pumpkin seeds to try the seed cycling again. Gotta assume it's day one, right? Sheesh! If we could just regulate the hormones, I might be able to get back to weight loss. Everything went haywire this week. I had an HS flare, got a coldsore, then caught a cold! Happy to see minimal movement on the scale, but I've been pushing fluids for days. My visit with the surgeon was fantastic. He said I have plenty of space in the hip joint and beautifully formed balls (LOL!). Apparently the head of the femur isn't always as rounded as it should be. He was able to see the bone spurs and pointed them out to me. One of them is right where the pain is. SO... The good news is I do not need a total hip replacement, meaning I don't need him. I do, however, need an MRI with contrast to see if I've torn the cartilage. Once confirmed, he will refer me to an arthroscopic surgeon to fix it for me. If they see nothing... ??? Who knows. Injections to try to alleviate the pain? It's a waiting game at this point. They are working to get the MRI approved through the insurance. Once that happens, I'll get an appointment. All I know is that I'm one step closer to getting back to the gym and being able to perform without pain. Wahoo! Have a fantastic week!
