Weight has always been an issue for me as it is with the rest of my family. My life changed a lot when I left the family nest in Michigan over 25 years ago but old habits die hard.

Living in southwest Florida gives me the ability to continue outdoor activities no matter what time of year it is. Bicycling, walking, and even attempting to run a little all are more enjoyable for me when I can be outside. Yoga is new terrain for me and while I like it, it truly is a lot harder than I thought it would be!

One of the best parts of living in this wonderful climate is the growing season for fruits and veggies is almost year 'round. I have a great coconut tree in my yard and I love fresh coconut where I couldn't stand the processed stuff. My diet is now focused on whole, healthy foods only. No cheese, no dairy, no legumes, no gluten, no grains, no caffeine, no processed foods whatsoever... no problem! It's a lot easier (and cheaper) than you think. Being back in the kitchen is fantastic, too. Even though my 16 y/o son is still a fast food/processed food junkie, it is easy for me to just say no now.

I'm not on a diet. Nope! I have changed my old food behaviors and family habits and developed a new way of eating (WOE) that I really enjoy. Yes, I have weight I want to lose and it will go away eventually. The importance for me is to clean up my food choices and not go back to the world of processed foods again. My body just can't tolerate it. I am here for the support and camaraderie through my weight loss journey and beyond.
