What a way to start the day - not to talk about the year. I am glad you woke up when you did and were able to put it out. I would say this is not an indication of what 2017 is going to bring - this was the worst of it, now everything will be better. Go to have tea with your aunt, it will do you good and help you to relax a bit.

Thank you Jozette99. I just took some Ibuprophin for my back and am trying to take it easy. Have someone coming to check my electricity to that room in a bit as well. Have to be here.

Wow - you are a blessed person and so happy you were able to put the fire out yourself. And, it does sound a bit scary so you will feel a little "off" for a few days. Hang in there.

Wow! That was a close call. I had a fire in the house that burned out a room. My one regret afterward was that I stayed in the house breathing that stuff. Consider staying somewhere else until it's cleaned up. Usually the insurance will pay for a hotel, if you don't have friends or family to go to. Those bad smells are toxins. I advise you to sleep somewhere else tonight. Take care!

So pleased you were so quick witted. Glad everything was okay for you. I actually have a smoke alarm right outside my bedroom door and one inside the bedroom, as well.

Thank goodness you are OK. That's a great start for the New Year considering what could have happened. Look on the bright side and forget about the rest.

Oh how awful and scary that would be. How awesome that you didn't panic and did what needed to be done. I can only hope I would be that brave! Thankful you are ok. You will be able to handle anything 2017 sends your way after that!!!

Thanks goodness you checked when you did! I am glad you weren't hurt any worse.
