Here I sit in my funky house in the woods, looking out the window at what appears to be sleetish, rainish, maybe even snow!! What a difference a few thousand miles can make!!

Made it home about an hour ago. Lord only knows what I weigh. I'll face that tomorrow. It will be what it will be and I'll be back in "normal mode" here soon. It was a long trip home and I am tired. Glad I am not going right back to work on Monday. I need a few days to re-group.

The weather in Mexico was warm and beautiful. We had lots of relaxation time on the beach, by the pool, and plenty of tasty treats to eat and drink. The night before though I started to have a sore throat and wouldn't you know it ... had a cold the whole time. So I wasn't up to kicking up my heels as high as I might have but still we had a marvelous time.

The other sad news was that my mom had to put down one of our dogs while we were gone. Caitlin, our senior girl doberman was 10 1/2 years old and we knew she wasn't long for this world but still. The house is very quiet. I felt so bad ... that mom had to handle that all by herself with us in another country. I knew Catie wouldn't be with us much longer but of course, don't we always hope for just a little longer? Our boy, Blue, is still looking for her. I just made the mistake of holding her collar and letting him smell it. What was I thinking? She was a very good old girl ... she will be missed but she brought so much love and companionship to our home. Strange to be down to one dog. Mom made the right decision though, I just wish I had been here to help. So hard. I know so many of you understand and have recently had similar experiences ... to love means we also feel the loss ... I still choose love.

So am I glad to be home? YES. I would have also loved another week of relaxation in the sun but given the circumstances, the loss of Caitlin, my mom being on her own with her loss, and not feeling quite as perky as I'd like ... the thought of my own bed tonight is delightful!! I did work out a few times ... when I felt well enough too ... but I KNOW I drank much more beer and tequila than I did WATER!!! LOL!!! So, your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to remind me that this is a process and a journey ... not merely a destination if you catch me moaning, groaning, and complaining about the scale!!! LOL!!!

I hope to catch up on your journals here in the next few days. I did not take many pictures but I'll see what I have to share. I hope all is well with each of you ... I noticed Momof2Girls is sitting right there at the blue line, yogamama seems to be back on track, and my own dear sweet momma is down almost to my goal weight!! I missed you all ... never did boot up this thing one time down there ... read three books though!!! Toodles my friends ... more to come!!!
