Went to the doctor today for my yearly checkup and he was pleased. Everything is good.

Once a month a lady from the UC Davis Cooperative Extension comes to our class and brings a new fruit or vegetable for my kiddo's to try. Today's veggie was beets. I don't like beets but I am the teacher and have to lead by example so I ate the slices. I loved them! They were fresh, not pickled, which I discovered was the only way I had ever tried them. Several of my preschoolers tried them and liked them. One even swiped one off of her neighbor's plate. If they don't like them then they are supposed to say "I'm not ready for that yet", as opposed to "yuck". So if it's been awhile since you have tried fresh beets, try them again, maybe your ready for them now. =)

Hi Skwhite, congrats on the checkup! For the food, it's actually surprising how the preparation of a certain type of food influence on its taste and how some food is always prepared the same (not always the best...) Keep it up!
