14running的日记, 2011年05月10日

I've been a runner for the past 8 years. Last year I ran my first marathon but gained 20 pounds in the process and burned myself out with running too much. I've started running again - not as much as before but I'm getting back into the swing of things - and realize that even though I may be running, that alone doesn't make up for the fact that I'm eating too much. Also, I think my age is becoming a factor. I used to be able to eat what I wanted as long as I put in a run here and there. I"m also realizing that the foods I am putting in my mouth need to be quality foods, ones that provide building blocks for a healthly body. So, to start off my journal (I've never been good and keeping one) I'll confess my morning breakfast -

1 cup of coffee
1 smoothy which consists of: 1 c orange juice, 1 med banana, 1/2 c chopped kale, and 1 cup chopped spinach (it really is pretty good)
I also had a toasted english muffin with a micorwaved egg and 1/4 cup raisins on my way to work.

I just did a calorie count and I'm pretty amazed that I can eat all this and still feel hungry.

I can also state that I ran 3 miles this morning and a decent pace of around 9 min/mile.
