Glad you won at the slots. I stopped by yesterday myself and was not lucky. Hope your funk passes soon. Being on video would make me a bit tense too.

Glad to hear you had luck w/ the slots! Sounds like a nice weekend. It's Monday & sometimes the funk just likes to roll in at the beginning of the week. Hopefully it'll pass soon & you'll be spunky & chipper as usual. = )

Sounds like we had similar weekends. lol I was out of town so ate out the entire time, and consumed way more sugar and white flour than I ordinarily would....my parting gift was a 1.6 lb gain for the week. :p Working on it today...
|
Sounds like the Mondays to me. I have it big time, especially after the week off work. As I pulled into the parking lot today I was simply overwhelmed with "do not want to be here" feelings. I think I have PMS. I want to go to the gym tonight, but I'm not sure, as I'm still feeling "off" and having some weird symptoms. So lame. So I guess I'm having the Mondays too! Here's to getting through it and home to out men asap!

It's so nice to hear someone else having an "off" day....well not "NICE".....let's say comforting!!!! :-/
I'm battling my UGH feeling with feeling till the end!!! Gonna beat it ....gonna beat it!!!!
I am ALSO happy your grateful your dog is clean...as well as your shower and floors!!! MINE TOO....now! :) lol
So you obviously have more experience in losing weight ...... Let me ask, WHY is it when you work out MORE the scale goes up???? And when DOES it go down again?!?!?! Feel I have been pushing harder at gym.....and NOTHING?!?!?! Curious?
Here's to surviving Monday!!!!! :D
|
I have heard a couple of theories about exercise and the numbers on the scale. 1. Muscle weighs more than fat. and 2. When our muscles have been worked they retain water and therefore the scale temporarily goes up. I know people who work out like fiends and the scale goes down. In this past year, pretty much anytime I have stepped up the exercise, especially the elliptical ... I temporarily go 'up' then 'down.' I think the best we can do is to take one day at a time and realize in the long run it really is 'simple math' and our efforts will show either in the tape measure and/or on the scale!!

Hi there, hope it's okay I stopped in on your journal. Saw something that peaked my interest as it's something going on with me now and one of our common friends (Info) and I were discussing it. Both theories are correct. Muscle does retain water when it's being worked at a new level and yeah, it will go away. I've just started a pretty intense workout program (Insanity, and Slim in 6 - yikes) and though I had a small drop, it wasn't as much as the "math" would have suggested. And yes, you're right - muscle weighs more than fat by volume. When I first started this journey (Dec.), I began with dieting and fairly intense exercise. With that combination, along with a previously undiagnosed thyroid problem left me so frustrated. I'd lose weight so slowly that I'm surprised I didn't give up. And the fact that we're "women of a certain age" also makes us hold onto water under strange circumstances! That last one is my theory, but I'm stickin' to it!

I seem to have missed out on a lot. What's this being on cam thing about!? Hope all is well, $500 sounds great to me! I am wearing my bigger jeans today, so lets see what we gotta do to get back into the skinnies shall we?? Love your ending on kindness and new opportunity, I need that.

Personally I find the "math" doesn't work in the short term (day to day) but works in the long term (month to month). What you ate or did yesterday has very little to do with what you weigh today (except what's still in your belly or sodium leading to water retention). At least that's what I've come to believe.

Mad, i am with you on the list of things to be grateful for. I have "rediscovered" perked coffee, and am loving it. Mom gave me her old pyrex stove top percolator and it is awesome! As for the clean shower, that is done. Floors were clean yesterday, not so much anymore with the two big dogs running in and out, and the clean dogs thing is coming this afernoon. All 4 (they are big dogs) are getting baths later this afternoon, which means I will be wetter than they are!! lol But at least when they get into bed with us, they won't leave behind their doggie dust. Unless they roll in the gravel driveway again before coming in for the evening!! Hope you fell better, and have a great day! And congrats on the $500 gain, that is awesome.

I'll take whatever theory works!! LOL!! Oh the camera thing is the University of Idaho is developing on online training for utilizing a coaching approach to providing services to families receiving early intervention in Idaho. We were recommended as a 'good' example of services utilizing this model. Therefore ... smile, you're on camera!! LOL!!! Yes ... Cynthia ... let's get back into those skinny jeans!!

Well first of all congrats on doing so well at the casino! Once I brough home almost $1000 and once $500 but thats it for me - and for the amount of times I've been there, I've given it back 10 fold! As far as feeling icky.. maybe some exercise? Get thoes pilates tapes out - I think that would make you feel better. Or maybe get Bob and do a whole different kinda exercise.... ( ;

Wow....thanks for the info. I have to say....I DO believe the "math" theory. According to this site.....and my calories in and calories burned.....by the end of the month the difference is pretty much EXACTLY what I lost!!!! So I'm thinking....give up on the work out......JUST kidding!!!! And I also agree it MAY not show day to day......but in the end the math works!!! Interesting......thanks tho for reply (s). :)

Hello Moose, I had a good vibe about you and some winning and am glad to hear you got a piece of that action even though it wasn't through the drawings:) My poster is complete! Actually, I did the collage this past May and added the crayola words today. Artwork, is fun for me as it keeps my mind away from "what can I eat next to what can I create next" lol. Anyway, always nice to check in on your grateful list and daily journals. Tuesday, is sure to be a better day for you, as Monday is the day a lot of us can easily get the blues as we are transitioning into the work week. You and information cracked me up regarding a "Pound Cake" Fast as that is a funny play on words and just plain funny! TOWANDA!!!
