Big SIGH!!! Wednesday it is!

All is well. We've been busy fantasizing about how we will spend our money when we win the lottery!! It is fun and puts my mind is a good place. There is a $500,000 lottery raffle draw later today ... that would be enough to simplify our financial life considerably!! Wish me luck!!

Weighing in just one time a week is very different. I find myself looking at the scale and fighting the urge to step on. I don't know how long I'll do this but it seems to be good practice for me to simply trust that I am doing what I need to do and has reduced my angst about fluctuations. Fortunately it has not become an excuse to wander off of my path. It seems that I have lost more than weight. I have also lost my desire to eat myself into oblivion!!

And so on into the day I go ... grateful for

1. shifts in behavior and thinking

2. fresh air

3. good food

4. the chill in the morning air

5. the company of good friends and family

Have a delightful day. Of course I want to remind myself and all of you to practice kindness towards yourself today. Sometimes it is easier to do. I find it is most difficult when I feel I am 'falling short', if I 'feel' fat, when I am overtired or stressed. Those are the times though that it pays off the most!! Take care buddies!!

Good luck on that lottery draw! And good luck with the once per week weigh-in. I debate sometimes whether I should weigh every day, but right now I don't trust myself enough to let it go. I need to take baby steps. Maybe eventually I can get to a point when that daily reminder isn't necessary...perhaps your example can help me get there. :)

Good luck with the lottery! Hope you win big and then you can drink all the $9 Margarita's you want to . lol I like you am only stepping on the scale once a week. I am tempted today too because of all my bad eating but I am waiting. Why spoil the weekend. lol

I used to stay off the scale for 1-2 weeks at a time - for a while it worked well for me, then I started giving myself cheat days because of it... thats not a good tactic! Your doing great though, and if you do win that lottery, you MUST fly yourself out here!

Crossing fingers for the $500,000. (If you win, maybe you could send me a $500 finder's fee--for the luck I'm sending your way?) I'm thinking about staying away from the scale for a week. I'm just making myself feel bad. right now though I don't need a scale to tell me my clothes are tighter. We had a chill in the morning air here, too, and it was wonderful! I didn't want to get out of bed. Well, I never do. But this morning was especially hard.

Good luck for the jackpot Moose! About weighing in every day or once a week: I have 2 scales in the bathroom. One is old-style and gives me my weight in pounds. I use this one everyday, just to have an idea of where I am. And then I bought a digital scale, that also gives the body fat and the body water. I use this one once a week for the "official" weigh-in... What? Did you say I'm obssessed? Lol I think you're right!

so sad. no $9 margaritas for me. no trips to Jersey to see MOMO. no finder's fee for Beets. so very sad!!! LOL!!! Oh well ... it was fun deciding how I was going to spend it!! My mom bought a couple raffle tickets too so maybe hers are winners?? Now jessyline would I ever tell you that you are obsessed? Moi? NEVER!! LOL!!! As for daily vs. weekly weigh-in's I have been weighing in daily for over a year!!! This is new for me and I don't know how long I'll keep it up. Right now it feels right. I am secretly (shhh ... don't spread it around) fearful that I am gaining weight but I am tracking my food and exercise and being honest so how can that be?? The plus side is that my mood isn't determined by the number on the scale each morning. Sarah, I used to use not weighing for MAJOR treat excuses!!! In fact, one diet I did (and it was a diet) I would be really, really 'good' all week until my weigh-in. Then directly after my weigh-in I would start eating and ate all day non-stop, then starved myself the rest of the week again until weigh-in. That plan included drugs. Not my healthiest approach!! Needless to say the weight didn't stay off. Gee, I wonder why???

I often plan what to do with my surprise fortune I'm sure is coming :) Most of it involves white sand beached islands and sexy men fanning me with palm fronds and bringing drinks in coconut shells with little umbrellas.

I'm glad you are not *worrying* about what you are going to do with all that money once you win it (lol). Some of us are like that too. I certainly wish you good luck in the lottery and with the new weigh-in scheme. I curious to see how that one works for you. Have a great evening moose!

Yes, the weight loss drug part of my journey (many years ago) was a low point. It is the only time I can remember my husband voicing being disappointed in me. He was really against it and I did it pretty much behind his back. Remember phentermine? The drug that had the negative impact on the heart? Yup. I did that. This is most definitely much healthier and a way I can live!!! I find myself wishing still that I had figured this out at a younger age. It is a part of the reason I am so relentless in encouraging us all to be kind to ourselves.

Well, Moose you are definitely the champion of being kind to ourselves. You do a wonderful job of reminding us in a gentle, wise way. It's really easy to get so caught up in this that we are willing to do anything and everything to get to that magical number. But, yeah. Wherever you go, there you are. So, as you so often point out, it is so important for us all to work on the inside just as much or more than the outside.
