holidaybunny的日记, 2015年11月10日

How could I possibly gain 2 pounds in one day? I only went over my calories by a tiny bit. This is making my pretty cynical about how much my range actually is. and this is also very frustrating. my dad was telling me yesterday how I was really close to losing 20 pounds in total, which I hadn't even thought about. It made me happy. but apparently having ice cream and a couple of tortilla chips is too much, even if it just barely goes over the limit. I did not expect this. I know its not the end of the world and that I'll lose it, but damn it wasn't half a pound, it was more. Sorry for the rant.

A big gain overnight is usually water weight unless you ate a huge amount of food. Things like sodium, medicine, stress, exercise and many other factors can cause our water weight to fluctuate. If you are doing low carb and eat some carbs, it's still water weight. Protein pushes water out of cells and carbs take it in. Just stay on plan and keep going. Google "why the scale lies" for insight too.

Just because your weight varies everyday

Yes, don't give the Idiot Box too much credit (or much of your energy/stress) -- ditto what Suzi said!! Hang in there . . . and hoping (and optimistic) that tomorrow will be a better day for you!

@Rockiesfan, I'm sorry but that was possible the least informative and helpful thing you could have said short of an insult. @loseit1655, idiot box? and thanks, I appreciate the support.

"Idiot Box" is a popular nickname on FS for the scale . . . just guessing, but I think Rockiesfan probably just hit 'Submit' before he could finish his thought/comment -- don't be too hard on him -- he's a GREAT supporter!!

Ahh I see, thanks. Some of it is because I weigh myself everyday so a week of, say, no change is a lot for me rather than someone else who could experience it for a month. Also I don't know him, but I'll take your word for it. Regardless, it was a "no shit sherlock" moment. Pardon my language, but it wasn't helpful and just added to my bad day.

probably just a little water retention. This can happen from the old reason of eating a bunch of salt, or the lesser known reason of eating something that you are sensitive too and causing some inflammation. You can be sensitive to a food without being allergic, or so they say. My fiance is not lactose intolerant or allergic to dairy but if she has whey protein, she can bloat a little.

Do you weigh your food or go by volume? That tiny bit of icecream and tortilla chips could be a lot more than you think it is if you don't have a food scale! The salt in the chips can also make you retain water.

I'm hoping it's the salt, I should drink more water as it is anyway, I've been slacking. And to answer your question I-Ianna, I don't weigh my food, I dont have the resources or time :p Though often time blue apron gives exact measurements. Most of the time my food can easily be counted without my effort. I usually go by serving size for something that is packaged. Although it's not a good mind set, I'm already expecting not to lose any weight tomorrow judging by the trend of things.
