Yesterday my sister died, I come from a long line of diabetics (a little sugar problem). Four generations, me, my father, his mother, her mother. 120 years, In Bermuda we know it is genetic. Bermuda is 13th on the list of the highest diabetic countries. We have a population of only 60,000 people. I had two genetic sisters, both are dead now. Diabetes, kidney failure, leg ulcers, blindness, amputations, septics than death, long (15 years) and painful (gout) Cost per year, for dialysis medical care only $150,000. 2 sisters, 15 years each, 2×15×150,000=$4,500,000. (Yes that is 4.5 million $) I chart my progress, against theirs. My diabetes under control, kidney disease under control, leg pain gout under control, blood glucose A1c 5.2 none diabetic range.
