I don't want to sound depressing but I have get this out. All I wanted is to be loved. I hate that my mom was right when she told me no one could ever love me because of how I look. I have a choise right now. I have been with the giy I was in love with back in high school and he recently told me he doesn't believe in love and never will. So I either stay with him with never getting love or affection or leave.

Oh my dear sweet lady - you deserve to be loved and are worth it! I am so sorry your mother would ever tell you such a terrible thing. There is a person who will love you - the woman - not just how you look! You deserve someone who loves you - not a life of settling! I had many relationships - but finally met the man I married when I was 49! It can happen!

This made me so sad to read, I hate the thought of anyone feeling this way about themselves and I am so sorry you mum said such a thing to you. First of all, the type of person who only loves you for how you look isn't the type of person who you should want to love you.....if that makes sense. Love can find YOU (not your looks) at any age so don't feel that you have to live without it just for the sake of being with someone. I got married at 35, my friend was married in her late 40's and my parents were married on my mums 50th birthday. Agree with everyone above, love yourself and treat yourself with the respect you deserve.

Please listen to what everyone has said. Not to be disrespectful to your mom but she was NOT right when she said no one could ever love you because of how you look. Whether you stay with the guy you're with is your decision, but if he does not love you back you should consider if you want to stay in that type of relationship. The right person will love you for who you are and your looks won't be the determining factor in that.
