Starting my own diet again. Basically, it's limiting me to one plate (no seconds) and not overeating. I allow myself all the food groups although I'd prefer to have less carbs and more protein but I'm not hung up on that. This is about getting under control and not overeating. Sound easy? Not at all. I can't stand to feel nothing in my middle - I need to feel full (not stuffed) or I think I need to eat more. Nothing - an absence of hunger - makes me crazy.

Actually, I don't really allow myself all the food groups. I am trying to stay away from desserts since January 2014. Sugar is my meth/heroine/coke, etc. Sometimes I convince myself I'm okay and buy something sweet and then regret it (such as skinny cow ice cream last night - we'll see how that goes).

Another aspect of this is to stop eating out so much and cooking/preparing food at home. This is also difficult because I cook for one and that is often not worth it (to my thinking). Plus, I make too much and I have to eat it. All of it.

How about if you make too much, make a little more and freeze it for another day? that will take away the "pain" of having to cook for 1 person, and will be something to look forward to on busy days?

Thanks, Elabella. That has been suggested to me before. Its a great idea but I've yet to actually do it.

Good luck! Filling up on water and greens with every meal helped me. You can find a grilled chicken with salad anywhere ;)
