Yesterday I went to sisters to help can pears & peaches. Dang it smelled good! All those spices in the pickled peaches...but oooooooooh all that evil sugar! So, I made it through the day with out eating any of it! But it was fun to be with my mom and her as we talked about keeping the art of canning alive. I now have beautiful jars of homegrown/canned fruit displayed on my table as ART! (I still have 2 flats of pears to put up.)

It was also nice that my sister had a very nice salad with steak for lunch....just what the dr. (dr atkins!) ordered! What a relief that I did not have to say no to her usual pasta's & potato dishes! All in All a great day, great conversation, and it was wonderful to be FREE to do it all.

Sounds like you had a delightful day, and yes it's all those hidden calories. Beautiful fruit swimming in a sugar bath :) So into the salads right now but fresh produce is so bloody expensive.Payed $5 for one cucumber, I really need to get down to the market on the weekend.
