First real landmark for me, just passed the 1 stone lost mark. Taken 5 weeks to the day, but I am very pleased.
No fancy diet, no mad gym work outs, just a few sensible changes. The right way for an overweight 55 year old man to do it.
So my way? Less food (obviously), my target calories is 2500 per day. Normal male daily intake (if a bit high- 2300 maybe) but the target is just that a target. My ACTUAL target is 1500 calories, and I tend to be around that.
Exercise is one of my big changes. Daily I now walk to my friends house instead of driving, to walk her dog (she is a pensioner with limited mobility). Dog is small, an walk is just half a km. but walking there and back makes it 3k daily.
My foods have not changed much, just eating half sized portions to what I used to have, AND forcing myself to eat slower. Give my body time to realise it has had food, and doesn’t need more.
This is working well for me, and it’s not too hard!!

So 3 weeks in on my journey to try to lose weight. 55 year old, and at 18stone 12 decided that’s it. Got to do something. SOOOO….. now walking 3k a day with the dog (instead of 1/2k) and I have cut my calorie intake. Guideline for me is 2500, trying to keep it to 17/1800.
Week 1 - dropped 5 lbs.
Week 2 - dropped 3 lbs,
Today down to 18 st 2, so another 2 lbs gone. AND this week included an anniversary Dominos pizza celebrating 30 years since meeting my better half, and a small Chinese meal too.
Hoping to hit the 1 stone lost in the first month!!!
