Well, I had a nearly 3000 calorie day yesterday. Ouch! But, today is a new day and it's almost a New Year. Time to start again. This morning was grain-free granola cereal with almond milk and a cappuccino for breakfast (500 calories). I knew I was going to eat too much yesterday and I gave myself permission to do so. Now it's back on track. I'm afraid to see the scale on Monday but whatever it says, it's okay. Christmas Day was wonderful. :)

Oh man! I was SO hungry yesterday. But, according to the scale this diet is working. I've lost 2 pounds in 4 days. I know it's mostly water weight but it's an inspiring beginning. I've also cut out a lot of the artificial sugar I used to eat. I haven't replaced it with regular sugar, though. I'm finding alternatives for sweetness. I also find that I don't have the sweet tooth I had 4 days ago. I guess it's true what they say about artificial sweeteners giving you cravings.

Day three. Feeling the hunger more but I still kept it to 1,720 calories. I have some good ideas now for snacks under 100 calories which help me to reach my goal each day without so much hunger. Christmas is going to be a day off, I have to be honest. I will jump right back into it the next day, though. It's just my husband and myself so there's no real reason to make a ton of food that is going to be tempting me for weeks.
