So I go to the doctor this afternoon for a consultation about getting a tummy tuck. I have a lot of extra skin (AND FAT) to lose out of my belly. I am really scared and not 100% positive this is what I want to do. I figure it wont hurt to just see what the doctor will say about it (if there is ANY hope of this skin going back). When I lay on my back and look at my stomach its just a MASS of wrinkles, looks like alligator skin and I am only 23... The more weight I lose the more wrinkles there are. People say "Just go work out and tone up and itll go back"...I would have to have the 6 pack of Hercules to fill all this skin up! People just dont understand. If you havent been in my position you do not know! I've lost 155 pounds. My mom got her tummy done after she lost 108. She was in so much pain afterward but the results are great. The only thing I am afraid of is the pain and the scars. When they did my moms stomach they cut off 11 pounds of skin/fat. If I get that much off, I would only be 15 pounds from my ultimate goal. The surgery is not only for cosmetic reasons...my stomach literally flaps down onto my legs, when I jog my belly bounces on my legs holding me back from exercising to my full capability. I have to make sure i thoroughly dry under the flap after showers and baths or I get yeast infections on the underside of my belly which is very itchy and causes much discomfort. I know i also have extra skin in my arms, thighs, and breasts. I am not so worried about that because it doesnt cause any discomfort and I know I'll NEVER have a model figure because my love for food caused my body such a disfigurement before. Although it does make me wonder if this extra skin is the reason its SO HARD--nearly impossible, to lose weight now. If you have read this far into it please give me your opinion on this situation and idea.
