Day 6

Weight 203.8 (UP 6 tenths from yesterday).

Enough said. Anything else I write will most definitely be less than positive so I'll stop there.

Grateful list to come a little later this morning.

... for knowing ... deep down inside ... that if I simply stay the course my body will find a new set point, balance at a healthy weight, and I can learn to keep it there for the rest of my life.

... for the encouragement, the presence of my buddies here who help me maintain a proper perspective.

... for new boots (have I ever mentioned how much I like boots?)

... for finding a radio station that plays Christmas music and listening to it during my commute to visits yesterday (silly but fun!!)

... for feeling strong in my body and healthy ... even if there is a little more of me to love.

Sorry I was cranky earlier. I am just so dagnabbit impatient!!! What I am doing cannot be wrong. I just need to hang in there. What did I expect? Lose 5 lbs overnight? I have 20 or so lbs to lose. It isn't going to happen at lightning speed. The important thing is that I am continuing to be mindful. I am eating tasty food. I am satisfied with my foods. I have limbs that work, a mind that is still relatively sharp, wonderful friends, dear family members, a decent job, a roof over my head ... life is good!!!

Now it is time to finish getting ready for work. Gussy myself up a bit, pack my lunch, and head down the hill. Take care of yourselves ... help me practice kindness towards myself by being kind to yourselves!!! And let me know how it is going!! Bye for now!!

Hey Carol, please don't be negative. The scale is driving you crazy everyday this is no way to live. You know, you perfectly know that your body fluctuates A LOT. Those up and downs are hard on your nerves but look at the chart, there is no lie there. You are losing weight!! It is working!! You also know you got back to exercise yesterday. this wain was to expect. Ok, now I'll be waitng for your grateful list;-)

Anne I read your comment from yesterday's journal about expecting a gain after 30 minutes of elliptical. It appears you are right. I know, my body does fluctuate a lot. I don't like it. Just finished my 30 minutes on the elliptical, having my first cup of coffee and then I'll shower, breakfast, get ready for the day. I will NOT let this upset me. I won't. I promise. I'm just grumpy about it. But I have a new pair of boots to wear today so all is well in the world!!! LOL!!!

Moose don't beat yourself (or your scale up) 6 tents of anything, be it a pound or a kg (cant you tell that I haven't a clue about what a pound really is apart from a weight measurement of some sort) is NOTHING! If you drink a big glass of water you probably gain 6 tents of a pound. That does not mean you gained 6 tents of a pound of fat. You are doing things right and you will get there. I'm glad to see your comment about not letting it upset you, because it is nothing to be upset about, the weight will come of, but at the pace your body will let it!

Hey, I just stumbled upon your journal! Gaining is never fun or easy no matter if its 6 tenths or 6 lbs! Something that has helped me is I have quit weighing everyday, it just drove me bonkers!!! Try weighing once a week or if that is not enough every three days!!! Also set a time trough the day to way and weigh the same time on your weigh in days! For me once or twice a week first thing in the mornings works best for me!!! Dont beat your self up! You will get that 6 tenths off in no time! Best of luck to you!!!

Hopefully the new plan will start showing it's benefits soon- i bet there is some reset time after the body just got used to the dr kruse thing. Glad you found some good music to cheer the mind...no bad thoughts...heavy thoughts = heavy scale?? maybe : )

While weighing daily has its difficulties I have tried weighing less frequently and it doesn't really work for me. Thanks though. I just need to get back in the swing of being in the moment and remembering that simple math will win out eventually.
