Monday and in a hurry. I have to be at a preschool by 8:30 am ... to support a set of twins (one boy, one girl) who are transitioning to school district services on their third birthday at the beginning of December. Should be a fun morning but I wish I didn't have to drive to get there!!

So I believe I am on day 20. Weight was of course UP today from yesterday's low of 202.8. It was 203.4 I believe ... which is still 2 lbs down from last Monday's weigh-in at home. So that is a total of just under 8 lbs in 20 days. I think I'll not complain about that this morning.

My routine is changing due to my hubby's change at work. He starts nights this week ... back to plowing snow for the winter which he is definitely NOT looking forward to. Fortunately he will have Saturday, Sunday, and Monday night's off ... which means we will at least be able to see each other. He starts work at 4 pm and works either a 10 hour or 12 hour shift, depending on whether or not it is snowing. So he'll be crawling into bed shortly before I crawl out of bed each morning. I'll actually be home alone at night Tuesday through Friday this week which will be strange. But I have a big dog to keep me company so it will be fine.

I read a little on the Spike Diet last night to add to my information about Kingkeld's version (his indulgence day diet). I think I have decided I am going to try it beginning with Thanksgiving. It is still calorie counting and I will still be mindful of what kinds of foods seem to agree with my metabolism when I begin. I do think lowering carbs has been a good thing for my satiety and cravings. It is interesting that the author of the Spike Diet also talks about leptin and coconut oil. I think the "indulgence" or "spike" approach is a way I could continue to eat ... even after I reach goal. I like that idea. I know I can't go on auto-pilot because my auto-pilot piles on pounds!!! This girl can EAT!!!

Drat. My time is up. I need to get on the road here fairly quickly. The little ones need me. So ... quickly ... gratefulness.

1. An enjoyable 3 days off of work.
2. The realization that I have been losing, even if not as quickly as I'd like.
3. For remembering my body ALWAYS flucuates according to the scale and it is not anything for me to fret about.
4. For not too much snow (none really here in town ... just at my house!!!).
5. For 50+ fine years on this planet with loved ones and the company of great friends.

Breathing. Yes. I must remember to breathe as well as remember to practice kindness to myself. I am determined. I am patient. I am capable. I take care of myself.

Wish I had more time ... I'm feeling like I'd like to peruse journal entries and write more but alas ... duty calls!!! Have a wonderful day. Take care of yourselves!!!

I'm sure this time on leptin resetting was a really good thing to do and your body obviously responded well to it. 8 pounds in 20 days is pretty good! You are strong and disciplined, spiking once a week should work for you. And if not you can always go back to the other plan!

And yes-try the zig zag thingy! It is hard for me to do-psychologically speaking (I guess I have a hard time trusting), but I have found that more often than not, I end up losing the next day. And yes-vital to get back on track the next day. Dukan also provides for an indulgence day, once you hit goal.
