Okay ... it is official. Mixing up exercise = death. UGH!!! I was already sore from the short kettle bell workout I did yesterday. I did Pilates today and another short kettle bell workout. It nearly killed me. My husband hollered downstairs to find out if I was okay. This is why you mix up your exercise and don't stick with just one thing. Sure, I can go for a LONG time on the elliptical but Pilates and Kettle Bells work a whole different set of muscles. Ones that have been sorely (and they are sore now!!) neglected for much, much too long.
So now ... a task for today is to come up with a workout schedule that will be doable on work day mornings but keep me mixed up!! LOL!! I'm trying hard not to feel bad about being so damn out of shape.
So, on a brighter note dinner last night was decadent and very enjoyable!! We went to our favorite Italian restaurant. We shared a Caesar salad and a Seafood Pesto dish and of course, garlic bread. Then ... we had coffee, cheesecake, and cannelloni. Oh and don't forget the Italian beer, Peroni. I have absolutely no idea how many calories I consumed and quite frankly I'm probably better off not knowing. The scale was up to 208.4 this morning but that isn't surprising considering the dinner I had and the exercise yesterday. It was a very, very nice evening. We enjoyed a leisurely meal, conversation, reminiscing about our first meeting 24 years ago. Nice.
We are having our chimneys swept today. I hope. It rained which means the metal roof is wet so it might not be safe ... we'll see. Need to get those darn things swept. Chimney fires are no fun at all. In fact, fire, except where you want it, is not fun.
The other "to do" on the list for today is working on the business venture we have been focused on. Don't know if we'll do that before or after the chimney sweeping fun. But we will do it. I guess I could do some housework but I might just opt for a movie instead. Oh and a shower would be a good idea. LOL!!
And I do take care of myself. I am kind to myself. I sleep well. I crave healthy foods. My body efficiently metabolizes the food I eat and I lose weight. I weigh 180 lbs. I am organized and efficient. I plan well and follow through. I am financially responsible. I earn $100,000 a year. I am a successful business woman and entrepreneur. I am an expert in my field and people pay me for my expertise. Our wood shed is full. Our dental needs are met. I am financially stable. I believe in myself. I am confident. I like myself!! I love my body!! I push myself to do difficult things. I handle strong emotion and conflict calmly. I am responsible.
Grateful today for ...
1. Making myself do Pilates. 2. A lovely dinner last night. 3. Another day off work. 4. Friends who remind me to eat veggies. 5. The beautiful doe and buck in my front "yard" this morning.
Off to check on who is here this morning ... or afternoon as the case may be. For those of you who know Deana Garcia check in on her ... she had her baby!!! Healthy and full term!!! YAY!!!
