Wow! A weekend of hiking and really uncontrolled eating and drinking, but I still managed to stay on track -- thanks largely to having stayed within my points and daily aerobic exercise the other five days of the week. It sure was a relief to get on the scale this morning and see that I didn't blow it big time. I guess that proves that you can go overboard now and then as long as you remember to swim (or hike or do aerobics!) and don't let yourself give up just because you practiced some old eating habits for a couple of days.
I know I can't continue in that vein, so I'm back to my routine today, and feeling great for having enjoyed the wedding party without being a bore or retreating to my cabin to avoid the stresses of a table laden with food. Two more major eating holidays are ahead and now I know I can weather them as long as I keep a close tab on my eating before and after the parties and NEVER skip a chance for exercise. I got myself a salsa dancing tape for those too-cold-for-even-me-to-go-for-a-hike days.
