I went to my HS 45th reunion this last weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed myself, and put my dietary restrictions on the shelf. However, I am so very proud to say, that I still lost. Not much, but I did. I tried to be as careful as I could, yet I still enjoyed myself. I must say, after 45 years of not seeing any of my classmates, it was like old times. I had a blast and can't wait for my 50th. If any of you haven't attended a reunion, please think about doing so. It was soul cleansing for me. I was by far not popular nor in the "in crowd"! In fact, I had someone "yell" at me, yes "yell" at me in front of a group of folks, "Hi, Lynn, did you graduate with us? I remember you in elementary school, but didn't remember you in HS." She was one of the "popular kids, cheerleader, etc." I handled it very graciously and just told her "yes, I did", and let it go. I got many comments from others, complimenting me on my handling of the "situation". So, take the opportunity and go, I think you will be glad you did. But, if you sit back and wait for people to come to you, they probably won't and you will need to be the outgoing one and walk up to people and check out their name tag as you won't recognize many, nor will they recognize you, but once you break the ice, it is wonderful.
