How wonderful! Eat healthy and things will be fine. Stressing is the worst thing to do.

CONGRATS,,The worst thing you can do is worry. I too was overweight with2 of 3 children. I had them all natural and they were 8.6lbs -8.5. Talk to your doctor and my advice is be mindful of sugar and caffeine, and eat a well balanced diet with plenty of veggies. And lf course your prenatal vitamins. Walking is great too.

I was overweight for both my pregnancies and actually lost weight. I ate healthy and after delivering weighed less than ever. Of course, I went back to old eating habits and gained it all back and more. This could be a great time for you to develop healthy eating habits that can carry over afterwards. Congratulations!

Congratulations! What a gift from God. Don't worry yourself. I was overweight too but like others have said just eat healthy and everything will be alright. I was older and had lost a child when I was in my 20's (so automatic risk category) and I did develop gestational diabetes. The thing about gestational diabetes is that it is perfectly manageable and your baby will not be overly large if you keep control of your blood sugar and stay active. My child was born at 6lb 4oz. She was and is Perfectly healthy and I also lost weight during the pregnancy. Also I got a child that was born loving veggies and fruit! Lol! So again don't worry!!! Just enjoy!

Me again...I forgot to say. Websites like WebMd will always give you the absolute worst case scenarios. It's kinda how they are designed. That's what my OB/Gyn told me and I heard it again from my daughter's pediatrician. Just sharing and I hope that eases your mind a bit.

Beautiful news! I was overweight and had gestational with Both my pregnancies... It's manageable with today's technology. Don't stress too much, not good for baby!
With my twins, they caught the gestational a little later, but a simple pill called Glyburide was the answer (and a low carb diet) but no needles to worry about. I ended up giving birth at 32 weeks... One came out naturally, the other was a C-section but everyone was healthy in the end! What my doctor told me was to simply cut the carbs so I won't gain more weight! See what your doctor says, follow the advice, you're going to a brand new mama again!!!
So happy for you!!
