I had a fun afternoon with my Gram yesterday. Dinner was okay, pretty salty in my opinion for a group of people who might have blood pressure issues, but the company was good. =) When I went with her to the dining room I heard "that girl is huge!" I looked up and they were talking about ME! He really meant tall because he then asked how tall I was. As we were leaving dinner I heard again from somewhere different "Look at her she's huge". I looked up again and a gentleman was motioning to me so I went over and he asked how tall I was, 6'1 or 6'2? I tell him 5'9". =) I guess next to my tiny Gram I look "huge". I know they meant tall but that ate at me all night. Just proved to me again that I really have to watch my words, because what may seem innocent to me may actually be hurtful to another.

I totally understand - I'm married to someone whose first language is not English, sometimes what is meant as a compliment or just a comment comes out a bit rude. I just have to remember the intent, no harm intended on you, I'm sure.
