Happy New Year 2016! Time is going by and of course there is nothing we can do to stop it. I will be 54 this year. I have been trying to get published for nearly 20 years, no luck yet - so I may self-publish in 2016. I have many books done and the first has been professionally edited already, and others will be professionally edited in 2016. There is probably no money in it to self-publish, but my book may be discovered that way, there has to be something I can do. Celebrities can get any trash published, and make money. I am financially OK - not rich by any means - and once one is wealthy to any degree one just tends to use the money to travel the world I noticed if they have any common sense. Glad the holiday season is over. I did not gain weight as I did not go to any parties. I am losing. If I can lose five pounds a month, or even four on average, then I will get to around 210 or 215 - where I want to be by summertime. I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year 2016 and that your wishes come true this year. We all know as each year arrives it is with new hope, and saying good-bye to the past. Let's all get our weight issues under control. We can do it!

Thanks, Rguarino, Hi sazy - I am back on - I have been off of here SO long. I am going to just use Facebook for my writing. It is so TOXIC on there, so much fighting and hatred and arguing and negativity, which I personally am sick of, so I am deleting all my posts on there and I will in time just use Facebook for my writing in a matter of a week or two, and eventually I will have a writer's page too.

Our library has a new self publish option. I'm new here so not sure if posting links is allowed. In case you're interested, it's the Richland Library in Columbia, SC and the self publish item is advertised on the home page of their website. Best of luck

Thanks, I will contact them in time, I live in western Massachusetts. I am going to pay to self-publish my book(s). One at a time - slayyourdragons. I am going to use CreateSpace. I will do one in March 2016, another in the summer or fall probably. Then more next year. I may have eight books ready for self-publishing by year's end. Some are quite long books too, so won't be cheap to self-publish. I just need the right literary agent or publishing house to discover my books - or perhaps not. I know some writers on Facebook supporting themselves very well with many books done that they have self-published - you figure if they make 50K or 100K a book a year on four or five books it gets quite profitable after four or five years, etc. - and I have more books done than that.

Fiction and non-fiction. First book that I will self-publish is historical fiction, my editor loved it. 400 pages. Second book- the same, 600 pages. Third book a long wagon train western - 700 pages. Fourth and fifth books non-fiction. Sixth and seventh books -short stories, fantasy ans science fiction. Eight book I am writing now is fantasy and might be a series, and I have started two other fantasy series already too. Too much work done to sit on it any longer at this point. Literary agents will not read it, I am an unknown. If you are a nobody, they won't read your work in general.
