Again, the change is so small but this might have to be the most frustrating scenario. I eat fairly well with a good protein to carb ratio, and not only do I not lose weight but I gain weight! And beyond having a small piece of chocolate I didn't indulge at all. (for those who look at my journals I often lump multiple meals in one place if I ate them twice in a day rather than separate them. sometime I have my chobani for other meals as well)

I'm not sure where you're getting your rdi from. FS is usually quite generous. Your calories seem reasonable, but maybe just try cutting another 50 calories a day. It can be surprising how little it takes to get things moving again. Maybe use a site like IIFYM to calculate your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) to compare it with what you're currently allotting. You'll make it. You just need to trust the math and stay on track.

I realized today that I drank a beer and didn't record it, I'm pretty sure that's where I went over. And my RDI is from FS but I put my exercise as sedentary so even if I do work out, I don't get any "cheat" calories so to speak. I purely want it to contribute to weight loss rather than giving me an excuse to eat more. Also I don't eat a consistent amount of calories on a day to day basis but I appreciate your support. I finally got more fruit and veggies from the store.

That's good. You know what you're doing and calorie fluctuation a bit is okay as long as you hit your overall target. Just one last thought. Do you use a scale to weigh your food? I remember when I started doing that how shocked I was because my guesses were wrong. Weigh if you can - measure if you can't.

I don't have a food scale, we do at home but I'm in college atm. It hasnt been too much of a problem eyeballing. For example I don't measure my greek yogurt, often times I suspect it's more than a cup, but I see it as more of a good thing rather than too much. A number of my meals come from blue apron which give exact measurements, sure it might not be as exact, just as you said but I'm willing to take the risk :). As much time as it takes to prep my food as it is, is already a lot for me, but I think your point is a good one.

I am amazed at the daily energy expenditure calculations if I ate the 2400 calories a day it sais I require I would gain so much weight, metabolism is a complicated thing I know I need to be around 1600 to lose weight and I seem to maintain at 1800. I'm not sure I get that but I guess everyone is different........

Yogurt has been sold as a healthy food, and it is in only one regards - the bacteria in it. If you buy low fat, it will be loaded with sugar. If you buy low carb, it will be loaded with fat. It's a marketing win, but you have to watch what you're getting extremely closely. Too much of a 'good thing' is still more calories than you need. If you have a 300 calorie deficit in your diet and add a half cup of yogurt without counting it or cream in your coffee, your deficit will be down to less than a half pound result in a week. Make sure you're not damaging your chances by keeping the diet running too long by fudging. I've done it. I think most people have.

I eat greek yogurt that's none fat with not very much sugar. Since I've really gotten satrted this summer I look at everything I eat very closely. I'm not going to be anal over a possible 1/4th of a cup extra of yogurt. If it were something else I'd care more but it's not. I understand your concern, but I think it's not exactly applicable for my current situation. I have bigger fish to fry when it comes to fudging than having too much yogurt. Since I gto into eating yogurt with honey and oatmeal, I've but bothe the honey and oatmeal down by half form where I started. I'm pretty confident in my choices on that matter. But again, I appreaciate your well-meaning advice.
