It is going to be a LONG day today. I have three families to see this morning/early afternoon and then an evening "class" with two more families. The good news is that tomorrow will be a shorter work day, ending with some spa time ... making myself gorgeous for the wedding on Friday!! Mom and I fly out on Thursday and come back on Saturday so it is a quick trip but should still be fun. I am really looking forward to the Wedding Cake ... isn't that silly? I absolutely LOVE cake. One of the reasons I don't make them or bring them home. It is something I definitely can eat too much of. I'm doing well with upping my calories and so far there has not been a negative impact. I must be on the right path for my body right now. I'm happy to learn that I can eat more calories and maintain, even lose. My goal is to average at least 1400 calories a day for June and I think I've accomplished that. I don't know about July yet ... I know it starts tomorrow but I'll figure that out as I go along. Amyrk's post about her one year anniversary yesterday was inspiring for me. It gave me hope that I too can change my relationship with food, not for just the short term but for the long haul. We can all do it!! We may have what appear to be temporary "setbacks", we may sometimes feel stuck, sometimes we go "up" and "down" considerable amounts, but ... we CAN DO IT!!! It is difficult not to look at past "losses" and then the subsequent "gains" as failures. I think perhaps that it is simply a part of the process. Not that I particularly have enjoyed losing and then gaining again, only to feel like I had to "start over" and lose the same pounds but in retrospect I can see different things I learned with each cycle. Of course, I am not planning on that cycle again. At least not in the huge amounts. I do believe that I may gain here and there but I think that happens for most people to some degree, at least that is what "normal weight" people have told me. The journey continues and I continue to be grateful that there is a place, here, fatsecret, where I can write about my thoughts and hear from others about their own journey. Have a great day!!
