If Vet really wanted to keep puppy calm, he should have volunteered to "keep puppy" over the weekend "free of charge" so HE could give meds...:) You and your husband remain in my prayers. 

Success - good point! But of course, I couldn't stand being away from him for a whole weekend.  

The two of you will be in my prayers.... as will your pound puppy. What's your happy place? 

Classic - my personal "Happy Place" is imagining working in garden in early spring, with the sun gently warming my face. What's yours?  

Don't have one. Time to create one I suppose.  

Classic - I'd think it is way past time!!!  

For me my happy place is reading. I can get lost in most books and tune out the outside world.  

Add to my to do list.  

Keeping you and your hubby in my prayers. Keep faith and hope up, I have 5 stents in my heart and am doing great. :) 

One of my boys had to have the Cath done a couple times, its not so bad. Nowadays its such a routine procedure its almost like xrays so try not to worry too much. They will get a much more accurate picture too so they can give him the right treatment the first time so its a good thing. Can you give us a map to the happy place so we can come with?

I like your happy place Buffy. Mine is a great stone, nearly black, we with a person shaped depression. It's on a hillside, in a clearing in a wood, looking over a valley. Sun warmed. It's a real place and I can't wait to get back to it. Thoughts are with you and yours.

Stay in that happy place and enjoy the little pound puppies licks and cuddles. My hubby has a stent and doing fine. As a matter of fact, once the stent was put in he was sitting up in bed, walking around, eating a big meal, etc. He went home soon after and went to work. It was nuts. He has to take plavix for the rest of his life, though. Of course, he had a heart attack first ... and they also discovered he had diabetes. 

Glennith - your happy place sounds very peaceful. Hope you can visit it soon.

The better picture the docs can get the better they can diagnose and plan from there. Hang out in your happy place, I like that one. You reminded I need to find mine again.  

Cardiac catheterization is a diagnostic procedure that determines whether your husband's arteries are blocked and to what degree. An angioplasty will only be done and a stent put in only if there's is a certain percentage of blockage. Other than in a heart attack situation, angioplasty is an elective procedure that often/usually is scheduled after the cath. I've seen a couple of caths being done and it really is a fairly simple procedure. The standard of care (ACC/AHA) used to be that elective angioplasty should only be done in hospitals that have on-site cardiac surgery, but (as a result of a study completed a few years ago), it has been determined that, for certain patients and under certain circumstances, elective angioplasty can be as safely performed in a hospital without on-site cardiac surgical backup. That being said, however, I think the safest thing is to have elective angioplasty performed at a hospital with on-site cardiac surgery, just in case. If I or a loved one needed elective angioplasty, I would insist on a hospital that had cardiac surgery. BUT your husband is just getting a diagnostic procedure done. He may never need angioplasty.
