I have thought all morning about eating carbs. Still low on energy. I thought the exercise from the weekend would help kick me into feeling better but it hasn't yet. I have had tons of water and I have had salt, as recommended for those starting induction for feeling dizzy, etc. Just thought it may help, and it hasn't. Maybe I am just not an energetic person. :(

I have lost a little weight, a drop in the bucket really, but that's not the problem here. I just want to feel more like taking a walk or cleaning my house instead of forcing myself.

How long are you into induction? I felt the way you do the first few day's. If your hungry eat but try your best to stay away from the carbs or try one of the Atkin Bars, those really helped me get through Induction. I hope you feel better, during my second week I really felt good and now I do not even crave carbs. I can bake for the kids and do not feel as if I have to have any of the baked goods. Remember, your taking control of your cravings, its hard at first. Good luck!

I felt really bad for the first couple of weeks headache, tired, dizzy all the things you are saying. Thankfully this week I feel a lot better. My energy the last few days has been up and down. I just read your profile and it was how I was feeling. I flew to England last September for a family wedding not only was I the biggest person where ever we went. But the worst nightmare of mine came true. I fly a lot but this time I had to ask for the seat belt extension I couldn't get seat belt done up, I was so embarrassed, thankfully I was with my loving daughter. As for house work I have not wanted to do anything for ages just don't have the energy, but this last week I have done a few things that I just never felt like doing before. That makes me feel so much better just able to do a few more things. I have messed around the last few years with diets just being heavier by the end of the year. I thought if I go on the way I was I would be over 300lbs by the end of the year. So each time I lose a pound I just think this is so many pounds away from 300. I started off Nov 26th 2010 289lbs now down to 271 so that was 11lbs off 300 but now that is 29lbs off 300. Just keep going it will come off. You have many years in front of you to enjoy doing all the fun things in life. I am finding this site so helpful and feel good there are so many people in the same boat as me, I am not on my own. Check with some of the old timers here to be sure, but I think you are to low in calories and protein. Look at my calender and see my ups and downs. I eat a ton of meat for protein and calories, and still can't reach the 1500 cal., and 90-120 protein that one of the old timers told me to eat.

I have been in induction for about a week now. I think today is day 7. I actually started two weeks ago really thinking about my choices and intentionally cut back on carbs but not until last Tuesday did I make a decision to give Atkins my full effort. I was 293lbs with blood sugar of 256. So, all that said, the blood sugar is coming down (225). I am happy and I am at 286 which is another tell tale sign something is working! But I don't have energy. I am like this a lot and figure it's the blood sugar, which is may be, or just that I am fat. I love this site so far, it's amazing that people read what I say and actually show interest in helping me cope! I appreciate it from everyone! There is so much guilt and self torture in being overweight and to hear someone say they know what I am feeling or what I am going through is amazing! I don't know many overweight people and those I do know are in complete denial (I was too!). More protein and calories, ha200? I thought I was getting a lot already. I am not above trying to get more- I am a born carnivore! HAHA Let me look at your calendar and see how I may adjust mine for this coming week. If folks are saying it gets better than hopefully better is around the corner.

Have you read The New Atkins For A New You? It has real good advice in there? Also, if your hungry, eat. Just remember to stick to protiens and your 12-15 net carbs of veggies. Your already making wave, you've gone down in weight and your willing talk her with us!

Yes, I read the New Atkins. I mostly read the induction and then the back part with some nutrition info. I am sure I should reread it a few times to get more out of it and remember it! I also go to the Atkins website daily to get in tune with what I am supposed to be doing. Changing your lifestyle can be very stressful one minute and no big deal another. I need more no big deal moments! AND more energy!

Jadea so glad to hear your blood sugar went down and your weight...yes I am new as well and I think it is a case of trial and error..but this site is so helpful, I need to read my book more as well. Someone said to eat more fat than protein I can't see that anywhere but I will keep reading to try and find different info. Also it says to eat 5 small meals if possible. That helps with the hunger as not going so long between meals. I think it is a great idea to read other peoples choices in food and how much they are losing. I go back to the Atkins site as well. Yes I think guilt is terrible to have to deal with. I think it is very difficult to change your lifestyle. I also don't crave chocolate even in a couple of weeks, believe it when I say I am not even tempted to buy 2 milky ways and eat them before I get home to eat dinner when I stop in to buy my lottery tickets, that is a proud moment for me. I am just going on a day to day basis one step at a time. Thanks so much for sharing.

Yvonne, it's all day by day isn't it? I have said it before when I have lost weight, I can only do today what I can do today. I make no promises other than I will try really hard to be good to myself. Don't you feel good at the end of the day knowing you didn't give into temptation? And even better knowing you didn't really have any? The reason Atkins is so important to me other than it's most helpful with diabetes, is that it is the only way to eat where the hunger gremlins are kept at bay! If I get hungry eating cheese, or some form of protein usually does the trick, and quickly. I lost 50lbs over a year ago just watching calories, which worked for me but I fought hunger like I was in a single woman war! No joke! Well, lets start this week with a toast (with water glasses of corse) that we will live more and think of the things that shorten our lives less!
