Yesterday I tried crunches using an exercise ball. I couldn't do very many because I'm so out of shape. I didn't realize how much the exercise worked until I tried to set my alarm clock last night. My abdomen muscles were very sore. This morning, those muscles are still screaming. Wow!

I do realize that because I'm exercising my muscles are going to start growing... a good thing. However, that means that I'll either get a stall or weight gain during that time. Not looking forward to that. So, how long after starting a workout does this happen? Hmmmmm... that is a good question.

I'm taking the day off from exercise today. I was going to go in but my lack of sleep persuaded me otherwise. Very excited about the superbowl. May get some exercise in as I cheer for my team... lol.

BTW - GO PACK GO!

Hey! I can fell your pain! You can do it, I'm cheering you on girl. Just wanted to let you know that muscle doesn't weigh more than fat like I've heard all my life. A pound is a pound is a pound. Muscle takes up 20% less space than fat so you can still weight the same but because you're building muscle you are actually getting smaller (that's the plus side to working out). The opposite is true too - I've experienced that first hand - Also, as you build muscle your body uses more calories - that's awesome too! So, if you are reducing your caloric intake and working out, you shouldn't hit a plateau or gain- unless you've been doing the same thing for the last 8 months or you start consuming more calories because you're working out - you have to change it up on the exercise to keep your body guessing at what muscle you are working. if you do the same exercises day in and day out, your muscles become more efficient at burning less calories to do the same work (ugh) So, the only bad side to exercising is the more weight you lose, the more exercise you have to do to burn the same amount of calories - but you're building muscle so overall your body will burn more through out the day - Clear as mud, don't you think?
