Good Evening, FS Warriors! Just thought I'd give a little update here since I probably won't be spending much time on here until tomorrow night, after the movie and evening services. The auction was a lot of fun. I was kind of disappointed in how much the pens brought - only $165.00 - but it was something. After all the work I had done in typing up descriptions of each of the pens and some comical remarks to help make the auction fun, they neglected to include any of it in the flyer, and the auctioneer didn't know anything about it. The flyer just said, "Item 17: hand made heavy duty pens, your choice" and they were all placed in a bowl, kind of like freebies or mints you would give out. I talked with the leader of the place and told him that he should have included a write-up for each individual pen like I provided and played on one pen every 7 or 8 items, and it would have made it a lot more fun, and made a lot more money. He agreed, and said they did better last year, sold one at a time, and I didn't even have descriptions typed up last year. But, oh well, still about $35.00 a piece. The last one went for $25, and I was going to bid on any one myself that didn't go over $30.00, but this one volunteer, that worked there, was so excited to be winning the one that looked like a rattlesnake hide, I couldn't bring myself to hinder her getting it. She was bragging about it to all her friends there, and I was happy she got it. I'm sure we'll do better next year.
I skipped lunch because of the big breakfast. The evening meal was good: baked chicken, green beans and twice baked potatoes. I skipped the chocolate cake desert, so all in all, not too bad on the eating. I'm not doing as good as last week, but considering Valentines Day and the auction, I'm doing the best I can. Toodles!
