I just love coming here in the morning and seeing who visited me since I was last on! Thursday and life goes on. I did an excellent job of getting back in track yesterday. Hooray for me! Feel so much better already.

Yesterday we received some disappointing news. My DH, who has worked his ass off in his job, got informed he was not selected for the senior position at his job. Politics I guess. I feel so badly for him. It should have been his. They d
Say when God closes a door He opens a window. I hope we can find the window soon. He is handling it okay I guess. He just feels used. For the past 2 plus years he has worked in a position that is at least 2 pay grades above his position at the big bosses request but was told he didn't have a wise enough range of experience for the promotion. What? The man they selected has less time on the job than he does and is a real schmoozer. Very disappointing. Can't help but think his health diagnosis has something to do with it. Darn.

Anyway. Life goes on. I was pleased to hear his reaction though. It was balanced. I love that man so much. He could so use a break, some recognition, appreciation ...

Today is a day full of joint sessions. That's kind of nice as the pressure is off for me. I also enjoy shared visits. It's not often I get to see my colleagues. Hopefully the day will go quickly. I'm ready for the weekend! LOL!

Still can't manage the exercise timing. Guess I should start in the evening though I don't like exercising after work. I just simply don't have time in the morning with the juicing. Not going to fret about it but I do miss my Pilates. I know my body likes it.

Grateful today ...

For sunshine yesterday! Not in the forecast but it was lovely to need to pull out the shades!
For a gorgeous drive home, blue sky, white mountains, I do live in a beautiful place!
For my DH who works so hard.
For a full day of healthy self care ...

Well duty calls. Must shower and get ready for the day. Another day of remembering what truly nourishes and nurtured me. Another day of practicing kindness towards myself and others. Another day of living in the moments as much as I can. Thank you my friends for being here with me on this sometimes frustrating and baffling journey. Oh and today I begin my fifth year on Fatsecret. Happy anniversary and yea for me that I am still here working on being good to myself!

Thanks Bren. Life just isn't fair. After all, the fair comes in August and stays for a week. That's about it!! LOL!!

Hi Carol! All I can say is that really sucks. Glad he is taking it well. I hate exercising at night too. It just seems so late especially with it getting dark so early. I know it's hard to find the motivation then but I hope you do. Can't you juice at night and put it in the fridge? Have a great day!!

No. I can't really juice at night. It would sit too long and not be fresh enough. Dang. Guess I could get up at 3:30 am instead of 4:30 am?!?! Oh I don't think I can pull that off. I'll figure it out. Eventually.

Aw, Carol, I am so sorry to hear about your hubby and the job! I am sure that the window view is much better than the one that the door closed on! Glad that you are doing well, and back on track. I know that many high-level positions are filled either as favors, bringing someone in from the bosses previous facility, or just making sure the skids are greased for the 'golden boy' that's being groomed for prosperity. Your husband is right to shake it off and go on. A lot of places won't promote from within. You may never know what's really going on. I'm sorry he had to experience this "betrayal". Makes a lot of people lose the motivation to go above amnd beyond again. On the other hand, causes some to rethink their priorities and can be a good thing. Things will work out.

DH learned today that the 2 men who interviewed him chose him, hands down! The big boss apparently over ruled the interview panel. He wasn't even in the interview! Wasn't someone from outside. A guy the "big boss" wanted to fire 2 years ago! Weird. I'm sure it will all work out. We are just going to take it in stride and look for that open window! I don't understand it but oh well.
