Sweet-and-Sour Broccoli Slaw
1 tablespoon sugar 2 tablespoons cider vinegar 1 tablespoon canola oil 1/4 teaspoon poppy seeds 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground pepper dash of ground red pepper 2 1/2 cups packaged broccoli coleslaw
Combine first 7 ingredients in a medium bowl, stirring with a whisk. Add coleslaw; toss well. Serve immediately. Yield: 4 servings (serving size about 2/3 cup)

Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl, stirring with a whisk. Add coleslaw, bell pepper, and onion, tossing to coat. Cover and chill 10 minutes. Toss well before serving. Yield: 4 servings (serving size 1 cup).
