giving up coffee.

does anyone read my journal entry? can you tell me the pros and cons from giving up coffee? I dont believe i want to quit entirely, just taper off strongly for sure.

I love coffee...just going to put that first. I used to drink it all the time even before bed....no problems. I didn't really plan on slowing down my coffee consumption or quitting...it just kind of happened. I don't have any health reasons to quit coffee...all good there. As I really made an effort to reduce portions and get my health back on track the volume just went down. I still drink coffee, not all day and not as much. but the desire just went away. you can set a goal (achievable) and work towards that.

I don't know. I am not giving mine up unless my doctor tells me to. If it keeps you jittery or up at night I may think of reducing it. If you use coffee as a means to take in too many empty calories maybe reduce it

the cardiologist said years ago, give it up or reduce it. So i drink watery coffee, it equalas about 1 cup a day. It still can keep me up at night. but i want to give it up and not rely on it to wake up. I am terrible in the morning,like really terrible. I cant look at or talk to someone without it. I dont like that. I yelled at my cat last week because he wanted attention before coffee. and the dogs, well dogs get it. Stay away from cranky pants until she has her coffee.

Sounds like you feel like you should let it go. You can try decaf and go from there if you do not want to cut it right away.
