Beautiful blue sky not a cloud!! Of course it is only 60 degrees out but it will warm up as the day goes on!!

We left a window partially opened last night and both of us slept much better. Turns out the night before last Bob was hot all night too!! He thought it was him (poor guy gets hot flashes with the hormone shots he is getting for his prostate cancer). I thought it was me. Turns out it was just hot in our room!!

I felt that enthusiasm of yesterday's journal all day!! Mom brought home a take and bake pizza which I enjoyed with a light beer. I even splurged and let myself enjoy a little "light" ice-cream while we watched "Young Victoria".

Then I woke up to my bad tooth. Aw man it hurts!!! Feels just like the last bad tooth so I'm fairly certain another root canal is in my future. Bummer is the new year for my dental insurance doesn't start till July 1st and I simply cannot afford the work without the insurance. So, I have a couple more works of toughing it out until I can go to the dentist. UGH.

Such is life. It doesn't change though that I want to hang onto whatever it was I stumbled upon yesterday. I want to feel good about me. I want to move my body and feed it so that it can be the best it can be at 52 years of age. I sort of wish I could transport a couple of you to me so you could help me learn how to use weights or bands and learn how to do some strength training here at home. Sometimes I feel like a real dork when it comes to exercising (old tapes). I do have k8yk's links. They will help. I imagine there might be a good DVD or two out there some of you might recommend to coach me. I just need to practice staying in this place in my head first. Work on adjusting my attitude, embracing my life, and the like.

Right now? Oh coffee!!! Coffee!!! Coffee!!! Coffee!!! And then breakfast.

I did Pilates yesterday (still kicks my behind) so I think I'll do some intervals on the elliptical today. I don't know if we'll trees up or what today ... we'll see.

Confession. I'm a little worried I'll disappoint you all. Feeling a little emotional today ... a little weepy eyed ... not sure why.

Anyway ... it is a GORGEOUS day out ... I'm gonna enjoy it!!!

Feeling a little emotional today? No surprise there, you are a woman, that's part of the standard package. ;-) I don't know anything about those videos and I'm curious about them as well. I think Cathy would be the expert there. I'm going to have coffee and no breakfast. Cheer up and enjoy the beautiful weather that has finally come your way. Take care moose!

Don't forget that you have stopped taking a medication and that might account for some of those weepy feelings, even if the list of side effects does not include that. Plus, if sleep is disrupted, or fluid intake is down, or food intake is variable - really, so much can account for any feelings that we have that doing an assessment of reality can help with mental adjustment. Just like smiling on purpose can lighten one's mood, nerve damage can make you "feel" like something bad is happening leading to depression, however mild it may be. I have no expectations of you other than you be yourself - i don't think you will disappoint me there!

Info ... LOL ... emotional? Me? Surely you jest!!! Yes indeed. What you men have to put up with us!!! Fortunately the standard package comes with many other perks!! Right? I will have a great day and I'm not really sad ... simply emotional ... and that too ... I shall embrace!! Coffee and breakfast was good ... now shall I pull weeds out in the beautiful weather or do the elliptical ... or perhaps both? LOL

You will NOT disappoint us. Absolutely not. As we all like to say, it's a journey, and you are preparing to explore new areas of your body's abilities that will hopefully bring you joy and make you appreciate it all the more. That is exciting and I am looking forward to hearing about it. Don't stress. :)

It IS a journey - and I've awakened a new sense of *working on the *best* me* as well Moose...we can't disappoint anyone...not even ourselves really...look at where we've come from...and where we still have to go...I, for one, have not been this devoted to a healthier me...for a very long time...only this time, I won't get *lost* for a year of the journey...you know you won't go back to the "way it was" - the rest is moving forward to be our absolute best...we are all a "work in progress"....Disappoint?? Never...! huggggs

Hi Moose! Sorry you are feeling emotional today. I have those sad days too. Hopefully it will pass soon. As far as the dvd's go 2 that are pretty good and not too long are the Debbie Siebers Cardio Core Express and Cardio Sculpt Express. They only use 3 and 5 lb weights and resistance bands. They will give you a great start. I use them in between the longer ones. You can check them out on Amazon.com and they are pretty easy to follow too. Cheer up my friend! I know how you feel.

Moose, try dissolving enough salt (Celtic salt or unrefined gray sea salt if possible) in cold or (probably better and gentler) warm water (body temperature) to make a strong solution and rinse your mouth repeatedly, vigourously swishing the salty water around your mouth (if the pain allows) or just allowing the brine to work in your mouth (it will make you salivate). The dental pain, especially when extremely severe, may instantly subside or perhaps take a while before it goes away, but it will. The longest it should take for acute pain to stop is about two minutes. Repeat application of the salt rinse - even over several days in case the pain reoccurs or doesn't fully go away - may be required. You could also lodge some salt crystals directly against the tooth or gum area that hurts. This is a home remedy and I hope it helps. I know the insurance issues and you just need about 2 1/2 weeks. Sorry you are not feeling your chipper self, however, it is understandabel with everything that has come your way recently. I think it is important to feel our feelings no matter what they may be. Please do not worry about disappointing anyone other than yourself. Feel the way you do and do not apologize for it. By the way, for the tooth I use clove oil for aches along with olive leaf extract to stop any kind of abcess or infection from forming. Hope you feel better very soon!

Hi Moose! Practice, practice and practice again. Indoor exercise, working out, is not something we do naturally, it takes some time before we can say it's part of our lives. You need to find a form of exercise that fits you, that you know you will enjoy. Kick-boxing? Yoga? Cardio like Turbo Jam? Once you get the right DVD for you, it will be easier. I like the internet option too, because on there you can find different workouts everyday and you never get bored. How did you like "The Young Vctoria"? I loved the music part of this movie. Have a great sunday Moose!
