Today I was at a dead run from the time I got to the office until I returned back home so no time for a journal entry ... late, very late!!
Let's see ... on the weather front we had another storm move in today. Supposed to be wet through Friday but rumor has it we may reach the 80's on Sunday!!! Looking forward to warming up a bit ... my feet are becoming webbed!
On the nutrition front I continue to eat well. I have been able to use my elliptical two mornings in a row. I'm thinking Pilates tomorrow. Reading k8yk's journal entry made me think I really need to mix up my exercise and add in more strength building. Although I'm probably way past the ability to actually see my abs grow stronger without surgical assistance I do think I could tone and strengthen some areas. I need to do things at home though. Going to a gym doesn't really work for my schedule and where I live. So, I am beginning to ponder what I might do. For now I will go back to alternating elliptical one day (using intervals of low vs. high intensity during the workout) and Pilates the next day. However, I just remembered I have a movie I need to finish to send back to Netflix so I'll still do my elliptical tomorrow.
Weight wise I am hovering at 183 point something despite lower calorie days lately and plenty of hydration. What could that mean? I have been down as low as 178. Stress could be a culprit as I certainly have had my fair share as of late. Could also be that I am actually not eating enough? I haven't been especially hungry though so that confuses me. Whatever it is I'm sure it will shift at some point so I'm not overly concerned yet. Just wondering.
Never too late to be grateful though so here goes ...
1. I am grateful for the job I have and especially my supervisor. My mother (who is 70 yrs. young and still working full time) has a not so wonderful supervisor who is very unpredictable. Mom had an especially difficult day today and as she shared with me I thought ... man am I every lucky!!! I'd be tempted to tell her supervisor to stick it where the sun doesn't shine!! My supervisor never pulls that kind of crap.
2. I am grateful for being able to work collaboratively with many of my colleagues from my former place of employment in my current work.
3. I am grateful for the forecast of a nice weather weekend and the hope that hubby and I may get just a little 'down time' out and about.
4. I am grateful for all the feedback about the BMI and my recent wondering about where my leveling off weight might be. It was very helpful.
5. I am grateful that the "young" parents I sometimes work with will still share with me their parenting concerns and don't appear to see me as "old" as I am ... that they trust me enough to let me into their homes!!
As you can see ... I am feeling a little better these days. While the generator 'crisis' still looms, life goes on. I am tired but that is pretty normal for me by the end of the day ... especially when I am really busy. Tomorrow will be a short day for me as I have a few hours to burn from last week and Friday is our final furlough Friday so that will give me another long weekend even if the paycheck is shorter!! You, my dear friends, help me more than I think you realize. I look forward to each comment, I so enjoy checking in and seeing what is going on in your respective worlds and am honored to share the privilege of witnessing the changes you each make to your lives. Sorry for waxing a bit poetic ... I guess there should be a number 6 on my list.
