Strawberry Protein Flax Smoothie
A healthy snack morning, noon or night. Also makes a good, protein rich breakfast-on-the-go.

- Pour all ingredients into blender in the following order - milk, flax, sugar, yogurt, strawberries and then 2 cups of ice cubes.
- Blend on high speed until completely smooth and you hear no ice or frozen fruit rattling in the unit. (You may need to stir once with long spoon to redistribute ingredients).
- Pour into glasses, garnish with a fresh strawberry or sprig of mint and serve immediately.

I make something similar!
240ml Unsweetened Almond milk
21g Plant protein powder
12g Chia seeds
150g frozen unsweetened strawberries or blueberries
1/8th tsp vanilla extract
Macros: 255 calories
13g sugar
9g Fiber
26g carbs (=19g net carbs)
This is so satisfying, I'll often use at my last meal before a fast until the next morning!

My KETO version of the recipes is:
1. Can of unsweetened cocnut milk (400 ml) 10 g carbs
2. 1/4 cup of frozen strawberries (3 g carbs)
3. 1 packet of Splenda (0 carb)
4. Zero Carb Vanilla Flavor Protein - 1 Scoop (25 g Protein)

I agree with perfect4me about the addition of stevia & the whey protein. Makes a great smoothie.

With only 3.75 grams of protein per serving, this recipe hardly qualifies as protein rich. I'm shocked to see that the recipe includes a full 1/3 cup of sugar! A cup of chocolate milk offers 4 times as much protein and fewer carbs than one serving of this smoothie. For a truly protein rich smoothie, consider adding some whey protein and using stevia as the sweetener instead.
