Ok. I know I said this in last journal entry but I mean it now. I'm going to get back to tracking my calories. Why is it so hard to do that during December?? I want to eat more junk and desserts! So am up nearly a pound. Plan is to track everything I put in my mouth today! Its hard to do it a day later when you may forget small snacks and the cow is already out the barn by then anyway.
Would have managed to stay in my deficit area yesterday in spite of some snacks if it hadn't been for that slice of apple pie!
Ok. Time to get serious again!!
Doing housework in lieu of gym today because if I go to gym don't feel like doing housework when I get home.

This time of year is tough on diets because evolutionarily we are biologically programmed to stuff ourselves to survive through the long, cold winters when food is scarce. Its even harder when we are surrounded by sugary treats from Halloween through New Years.

Try setting a date after the holidays as a tentative, "I'll eat something that's not on my plan" day. Something arbitrary, like January 15, so that when you feel tempted to succumb to the holiday temptations you can look past it and get on through the month. After the holidays readjust your splurge date, I would set it for December 25, 2016 and use the same strategy next year.
