I'm BAAAAAAAACCCCCCCKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stopped eating correctly after I had oral surgery at Christmas time 2012.
I let myself gain up to a WHOPPING 271 before the Dr stepped in with the pre-diabetic warning. On 10/13/2014, my A1C was 6.2, if it were 6.5, I would be on meds by now. Dr put me on a no white carbs diet for 6 months. After almost 4 months of dieting I am down 35 lbs, without actually following the Atkins plan 100%. I'm trying really hard but am begining to stall. Encouragement is needed and appreciated!

Welcome back SingSweet. To break through this plateau, change up your eating plan. Add vegetables to an omelet. Add more lean protein to lunch. And read through the Atkins book and guidelines, they are available on line. www.Atkins.com. I know Atkins has a negative stereotype of fatty foods and dairy. But that is so wrong. Healthy fats, lean meats and low carb vegies. And switch to almond flour and soy flour and golden flax to make your pancakes, or waffles, always with fat free syrup. Email me, and I can give you a lot of references.

Hello Lady! I have all that Atkins info but thanks for reminding me to read thru it all again. The first month (NOV) I lost 12 lbs, the next (DEC) only 9 lbs, then in (Jan) another 10 lbs. Unfortunately, only 4 lbs so far this month. My food intake has not changed so I'm baffled. Hubby thinks I need to step up the exercise. LOL! He WOULD! When I lost weight before, I overdid the exercise and ended up with tears in both knees (meniscus) causing Baker's Cysts. Several cortizone shots later it is better but not gone. Losing weight did help but not heal. Next month, my office is moving to a new facility that has a gym, plus much more walking will be required to navigate into an out of our new space. There is hope that having the gym right below my office will be the ticket. Say tuned! AmandaNC
