Came back from holidays on Monday, after being gone almost six weeks. My weight was up only 4 lbs, although I ate a ton of all the wrong foods while I was gone, but I did do more exercise than I've done in a long time. Not by choice, but circumstance. More walking, climbing in & out of a truck......... which really was beneficial for my back. That tells me that exercise is what I need. So I had told myself that starting Tuesday, I have to try to get on the right track. I keep thinking if I had eaten healthy while I was gone, I could have lost maybe 15lbs or more.
So beginning Tuesday, I have followed the GI Diet again, but also the mini-fast diet. I heard about this one on our cruise. You don't eat anything before noon ( you can drink water, tea, black coffee etc) & then don't eat after 8pm. So your body doesn't have food for 16 hrs. Also try to fit in at least 30 mins of exercise before you eat at noon.
So Wednesday & Thursday, I treadmilled for 30 mins, by no means intensely, but I hope to increase that slowly.
Breakfast has for a long time been a meal that I could take it or leave it, so the fast works for me.
I've been eating fruit, mandarin oranges, grapes, blueberries, apples. I've either had oatmeal with milk or a tossed salad with crabmeat at noon. Supper has been Tilapia pan-fried in olive oil with carrots & broccoli or baby bok-choy.
This morning, I am down 6.2 lbs. I know it's water weight, but I will take the loss. I want to research the mini-fast diet more on the Internet. But fingers crossed, I can do this!!!
