I've been pretty steady this week, but I think I am down by one pound since last week. I kind of expected/hoped for a bigger loss b/c I switched back to phase 1 last week. I haven't worked out quite as much this week as usual (3 days rather than 5), so maybe that accounts for it. Still, it's not really motivating me to stay on phase 1, I must say. :)
My husband is losing weight well on phase 1 diet, which is great for him. I'm not sure if I should stay on phase 1 for another week (with him) or go back to my fairly restrictive version of phase 2 next week b/c it makes me happier and it doesn't seem to make that big of a difference in my weight loss progress. Thoughts?

I am on Phase 2 while keeping a tight grip on my overall calorie intake. Often my days will fit into Phase 1 but sometimes I treat myself with some Phase 2 fruit, bread, and whole wheat pasta. I try to do this on alternate days and so far it keeps me going without much effort at all. If your calorie intake is less than your calorie expenditure you will definitely lose fat. Remember that working out 5 days a week will build muscle (which weighs more than fat) and that while you may not show an immediate loss on the scale, you are toning and reconditioning your system. Like yourself and others, in spite of my best efforts, I find myself hitting points of resistance that last for a week or more. Your chart is excellent. Take your time, you are doing a wonderful job as is. Good Luck Herbie!

You're doing great! I would stick with the phase 2 if it's not changing your weight loss. You get more nutrients in phase 2 that you're body needs, and that may be what slows your weightloss on phase 1. You're doing great, and you're still losing, so keep it up!

I vote for Phase II with more workouts. It's closer to what you want for your "normal" life. You are on your way to being lean, strong, and fit!
