Day 23 on Whole30. 7 more days of boring posts and food. Actually, I don’t find the diet too challenging. I like what I eat, however, I’d prefer more variety. The diet is very restrictive and I tend to be a picky eater. So, variety is difficult. I still crave sweets, but I think that’s because I’m probably eating more fruit than I’m supposed to be. It’s peach season in Georgia whatta gonna do?

Eat a peach straight off the tree. I have a list of the whole 30 approved foods given to me by my P.A friend that I work with. Luckily all foods I like to eat as well. The plan is expensive and the shakes and energy drinks unnecessary. The beginning of this plan is so strict. I think just eating off the list automatically will put you in a deficit so you don’t have to feel guilty about enjoying maybe a peach milkshake or cobbler. The goal is finding a healthy WOE that does not feel like a diet. This is how they were eating before but it became an office wide thing as one of the Drs wife’s became a distributor. It’s so expensive and they were actually getting headaches and the shakes were healthy but you could fit in a yummy meaty salad for example in its place. Use your sheet for guidance.

@jcmama. I’m def not doing any shakes or energy drinks. Just fruit, veggies, meat, fish, nuts. The diet was recommended by my doc to help determine what’s causing inflammation. I dropped 7 lbs really fast but not due to calorie deficit. I feel really good, so I’m afraid of adding items back. But I love sweets!

why not just go by daily calorie count and eat what you want within the calories allowed for a day? I find following a specific diet is hard to sustain. I am determined to really do it this time and I'm doing it by calorie count only - will keep you posted how it goes.

Bunnyfoofoo I’m glad it was Dr recommend. I just know it can be expensive outside of that. Honestly loving whole foods is a huge plus!!🥰 it means it’s either adding to your WOE or your finding your WOE. Realizing you have a deficit is huge. 500 cal deficit a day is I believe a pound a week. I’m more concerned about a weekly deficit for me because when I first started I was trying everything and was frazzled and honestly didn’t eat enough. I found a healthy WOE I love. Whole food is everything. I mean you can’t go wrong. I’m so glad you didn’t get sucked into paying up to $400 a month. Now that this is a way you like to eat you can expand on it with finding different ways to cook these foods and remembering you can treat yourself with the deficit. This is why I love this app. I have learned sooooo much.

@Torteea I’m not on the diet for weight loss purposes. It was Dr prescribed to help determine what is causing me such horrible inflammation. I was also diagnosed with hypothyroidism three weeks ago. I’ve had symptoms for years but no one would take them seriously and told me that it was just part of aging. Most likely because I went from being at a lower body weight to average for my height. I realize that I’m not overweight, but I’m heavier for me. I haven’t been eating low calories. But I’ve lost 8 lbs in 3 weeks. My tummy has flattened, my face looks slimmer, my legs aren’t poofy. I feel so much better.

Peaches are the best! It’s hard to get good ones in Miami. Mangos are a good substitute. Mango cobbler ❤️
