I can no longer LIVE by the scale!! All my life they got it wrong & I really wish I had been being measured rather than weighed by every doctor for every diet b/c lbs vs. inches are NOT equal in my world!! I definitely gain muscle faster than the average female & it's going to take some time before that number goes down. And yes, it's still really annoying but I CAN'T change that. But I will from now on be weighing in & measuring myself every 2 weeks. No sense in weighing myself every week if there isn't even a "positive" change there.

Weight: May 25: 244
Biceps: L:17.5 R: 16.25
Bust: 45.75
Underbust: 40
Waist: 48.5
Hips: 55.75
Thighs: L:32.75 R:32.5
Calves: L:18.75 R:18.5
Neck: 13.5 (June 8)


Weight: June 25: 246.8
Biceps: L:17 R:16 (-.5) (-.25)
Bust: 45 (-.75)
Underbust: 39.75 (-.25)
Waist: 46.75 (-1.75)
Hips: 54.25 (-1.5)
Thighs: L:31 R:31.5 (-1.75) (-1.00)
Calves: L:18 R:17.75 (-.75) (-.75)
Neck: 13.5 (same)

*A combined total loss of 9.25 inches in 1 month!! = )

So the scale can just SUCK IT!! What else can I say?? I just told me sister that she should measure herself as well (being that we share the same genes) but she'll live by the scale b/c it's far more friendlier to her than it is to me. Oh well, not my problem. She doesn't want to hear my anyway.

I wish seeing those numbers was the jolt of motivation I need to workout today. Althought I'll be dragging me feet, I know I'll do it b/c it's working. I will say that I'm suprised my biceps were smaller but I think that's just b/c they're SO sore I feel like my arms are ballooning out.

Needless to say I'm happy w/ the results. With that, I dropped most of my challenges b/c it's pretty pointless to be in a competition to see who can lose the most pounds when that's not how my body is going to work. A core principle I think is wrong w/ the Biggest Loser, I might add.

So I guess I'm gonna keep on keepin' on! Eventually my clothes will fit again. When? I have no clue, but they will. Time for some tea to help "wake" me up.

Thanks for keeping me motivated guys!! I know I'm my hardest critic & having someone else point out that I AM working hard helps me convince myself that I AM doing enough! *Big Bear Hugs* = )

that is awesome!!.. and yeah the scale was NOT my friend for a long long time... and still isn't.. but i'm just trying to find a healthy relationship with the scale.. and trying to learn more.. god i wish i measured myself.. i really want to keep track of that too.. oh well... congrats to you again!!

That is great !!! I am just starting to realize that may be my case as well. I actually bought a measuring tape last night to measure. I am going to start measuring July 1st, then again every 1st of the month. Keep up the good work.

Thanks ladies!! I've been at this since Dec, the same 5lbs up & down, so I had to take the next step & start measuring myself. It had to be done. I needed to know if nothing was really happening. Clearly, that's far from the truth! I have a better piece of mind seeing the difference in the tape measure than the scale. = )

That's the stuff! Who cares about pounds??? You can't SEE a pound. You can only see inches. You're going to get there. I'm so glad you found a way to measure your progress :) I mean, the truth is that if we're exercising and eating well, we're doing an awesome thing for our bodies! And the best benefits cannot be seen. Like, being about to breathe better! I'm really happy to see this for you :)

Thanks Kate = ) It definitely is a great thing that I'm doing for my body but I did needed some results to reinforce that I AM making the right decisions & a difference w/ my body. Most certainly got them! Yay! I may actually start recording a monthly weigh-in & my measurements rather than even every 2 weeks (though I may still check it at that point). So today was definitely a good weight-loss day = )

Thanks Shae! *Hugs* Definitely explains why I can't wear my workout yoga pants to actually workout anymore. They just fall off me if I start bouncing around, lol. It'd be nice if in the next month I can start fitting into my clothes better, so I don't have to sport workout clothes everywhere ; p

Seriously, that's what I'm waiting for. It'd be nice if the scale would move, but overall I have a ton of clothes I can't wear b/c of the weight I gained over the last year!! Scale-wise, I'm about 10-15lbs heavier than I was last summer & that when I started noticing my clothes being ridiculously tight. So I just want to be able to fit in them comfortable b/c I'm not wearing them otherwise, lol. I don't do muffin tops ; )

Love the attitude!! :) Congrats on the inches lost in one month!! The scale is only a portion of your lifestyle change... as my work says "you have to look at the big picture" :) The past two weeks for me was kind of the same for you; the scale was going up - my body was showing something different. I looked smaller but the scale was saying I'm gaining. So, yes, you can not live by the number on the scale. Like Kate said, you can't see a pound but you can see an inch!
