I've been back at this for nearly a month now. It has been difficult since in addition to the diabetes I also have some fast heart rates. These two have caused conflicting nutrition advice. My pcp says eat low carb, high fat. My cardiologist says eat low fat and low cholesterol. Sheesh, all those restrictions don't leave a lot of options. So, I am doing a self-modified version of Paleo.

I allow myself some cream in my single cup of coffee and one serving of plain greek yogurt to up the protein in my yummy breakfast of berries and nuts. Outside of that I am following paleo principles.

My clothes are getting big but I don't own a scale (I only weigh at the doctor's office). My next appointment is at the end of June.

I am feeling much better now that my blood pressure, heart rate and blood sugars are all being controlled with the diet and new medications. And I think the walking is improving my mobility and overall feel pretty good.
