Very disappointed in myself. After getting the good news that I don't have to follow the low-sodium diet anymore because the diagnosis changed and the problem with my balance/dizziness/vertigo and hearing loss is not as a result of Meniere's Disease. So, I caved and went back to my pre-health problem diet of lots of breads and all things crunchy and salty. I avoided Fatsecret for weeks and gained over 7 pounds. That may not sound like much, but when you're small to medium boned and 5'2" (used to be 5'3"!!), the pounds show up immediately and feel very heavy.
I'm so unhappy with my decision to sway from what I know is healthy and what makes me feel so great. And I need to get this under control again immediately. I have been able to stay off of soda and haven't started drinking that again, so I've not reverted to my former self completely. That gives me hope that I can start up again and not allow myself to eschew the healthy lifestyle again.
The stress I feel on my hips and knees and just the way I feel when I'm moving is different at this weight than even at 5-10 pounds lighter. I need to do this again. I'm starting now. I am embarrassed, ashamed and upset with myself and I at first put everything on "private" so my "story" wouldn't be shared, but as I'm writing this, I think I need to go ahead and make it public (even though for me that feels very raw) because I need the support and perhaps others can be helped by my situation......if I can get it under control again.
I'm back. :)

With March Madness basketball on our minds, I was reminded of a quote by Michael Jordan that could apply to all of us who feel failure when we've had a binge day or a no-work-out day (or week or month!).
"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times, I've been trusted to take the game's winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."

I love salty foods. Always have. But if you've seen any of my entries, you'll know that's become a problem for me; however, recently doctors said I didn't have to continue watching salt. I STILL WILL, however, because I've learned that too much sodium is extremely detrimental in so many areas. This article is the most recent I've read. And, as you know, limiting sodium is AN EXCELLENT WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT!! Now to see that sodium makes cells age faster....ugh.... Ain't nobody got time for dat!!!
