Rainy Saturday. Didn't see anyone, and enjoyed a lazy day with Peter. Advertised car parts, and actually had first sale... rims for Renault 5 car which Peter had years ago. Glad that he agreed to clean out the garage.

Bad news at the eye doctor yesterday... Peter's eyes are only one step from being so bad that his driver's license will be taken away. His eyes can be corrected only to 20/40. 20/50 is when he can no longer drive. At 20/60, there is a surgical option, but our doctor warned that it is not always successful. Since he has 4 motorcycles and 2 classic cars, this is devastating news.
My eyes are much better, 20/25, although I needed a slight change in my prescription. When I asked about long driving trips, the doctor said it would be "much better" if I drove. I can't imagine Peter allowing that to happen, as I always offer, and he always refuses.
This will make a big change in our travelling plans. We hoped to do another couple of driving trips to Nova Scotia, probably one to Newfoundland, and at least one to Alberta/British Columbia and down through Washington, Oregon and California, returning through the "middle" states.
A warning to everyone... don't put off what you want to do... you may find it's too late.
Of course we can still fly to N.S., rent a car and drive around; ditto for B.C., or take the train (horrendously expensive!), but we both really love driving trips and being able to explore little roads that tours never take you on.
Discouraged today, but of course Peter doesn't want to talk about it.

Peter and I are both having our eyes tested today. I know I'm not seeing as well as I did after my cataract operations. Looking forward to having new glasses; it's always fun picking out new frames.
We will pick Aria up this afternoon, and she will stay until after supper. Fiona's family (Fiona is a 6-yr-old across the street) has invited her to swim in their pool this afternoon.
At Aria's request, I'm making a tuna casserole for tonight's supper. She says her daddy makes a delicious one!
