So I didn't start my Ripped in 30 last night - but for a good reason. I ended up going to the gym instead and had a fantastic workout on the elliptical and weights. So, I think that tonight will be the start of my Ripped in 30 journey.

I am re-starting my diet effective today. I did well and actually got my weight down to about 155lb, went down 2 sizes in my clothes and had a great work-out routine that I loved. Then we got into our busy season at work, and I couldn't keep up with family, OT at work, school and the gym, so I cut my working out "just until after the first of the year". Of course it lasted longer than that because my new semester at school was tough and I was still working OT. I knew I was going to re-start after my daughter's spring break, and it seemed like it was a sign when I saw a notification that a group of people were going to start Jillian Michaels' Ripped in 30 today. So I decided that today is the day and I'm going to get back on the wagon!

I'm definitely noticing some awesome changes - not necessarily phsycially, but in my overall feeling of health. Maybe it's just mind over matter.....but I have had lower back pain for a long time (degenerative disc disorder), and after exercising regularly I've noticed a drastic decrease in the amount of pain I'm feeling. Perhaps my posture is improving, or my upper back muscles are getting stronger and reliving some of the stress on my lower back? Either way - It's fantastic. I've also noticed that I'm coming home daily with pounding, awful headaches (VERY stressed at work) - and after I exercise the headache is gone or almost gone. Those are very exciting changes for me - in addition to the physical changes I'm beginning to notice (very small changes, but significant to me - my jeans are pulling up a bit easier - I don't have to do "the jump" quite so much to get them all the way up....lol).

I'm starting over. I abandoned weight loss and dieting early last year, and now feel sufficiently motivated to give it another go. So I'm "erasing" the past attempt, and my new starting weight is 182lbs with an overall goal of 140 - 145lbs. I am watching what I eat very carefully, and placing alot of emphasis on "whole foods" fresh fruits and vegetables vs. processed and prepared foods. I'm also working out with the 30 Day Shred and plan to alternate that with a yoga or pilates program.
So here I go!!!
